Absolutely the BEST food in town.nAlways fresh and generous quantity.nMy husband had the fish & chips and he said it was the best he has ever tasted, lightly battered and not greasy at all. Amazing flavor!nThe seafood chowder is the best I have ever tasted, without a doubt.nSalads are incredible and every dish is served with artistic 1st class presentation.nThe deserts were so beautifully presented as well, and the flavor again was just out of this world!!nThe staff are all extraordinary and you are seated the moment you step in the door.nYou will not regret going here for any occasion.nPub on one side and a nice quiet restaurant on the other.nHighly recommend

The Rod & Gun is one of those places that really defines Parksville. It’s been around forever, and you can feel that history the moment you walk in. From its roots as a stop for hunters and fishermen to the classic pub it is today, it’s always felt like a genuine Island gathering place rather than something manufactured.nnThe food has always been solid — classic pub fare done well, generous portions, and the kind of menu that works whether you’re stopping in for a quick pint or settling in for a full meal. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the owner is a true local legend who clearly cares about the place and the people who come through it.nnIt’s an iconic location, a piece of living Vancouver Island history, and still a great spot to spend an afternoon or evening. My siblings and I went here for supper. A late supper 8 pm. Service was awesome!!!! Food was fantastic. Large portions reasonably priced.nBar atmosphere.

We came here as a U11 team group and came to the pub area at first, the person there walked us around to the other side where the restaurant seating was. Super awesome service right off the bat. Then we sat in a section reserved for the team. Kids in 1 spot and parents in another. I wish I got the servers name, she Is blonde and definitely had experience with large groups. She absolutely killed it. Nailed everything from getting kids orders in and parents drinks. Probably the best service I've had anywhere. So if we're ever in Parksville again we definitely come backnFood was really good too!

Pub with a country and western vibe. Service was attentive but it wasn't very busy when we were there. Food was decent - the salad had more than just iceberg lettuce, which is a bonus in most pubs. My burger was tasty. Guinness on tap always gets a thumbs up from me.
