Can’t believe this is called a dog park!Beauty around every trail corner! If you like hiking trails paddle boarding, walking your pooch,a sandy beach or just picnicking come here!!
Bend, OR has many beautiful, local parks. This one has a bridge over the Deschutes River, and trailheads for hiking. It was raining while I visited so my experience was limited. Even with the rain, there were hikers and bikers on the trails.
Went for an evening walk in Bend, OR near our hotel. Out of curiosity, I saw Robert Sawyer Park was nearby. OMG... what an amazing hike we had crossing a bridge to see lava rocks, a beautiful path and flowing stream with various wildlife. Totally unexpected, and I'm still in awe at having this experience.
Great little park, was nice and cool. The river view and rocks are spectacular. Excellent place for a rest or a picnic. Comfortable tables and grass to rest on. My little dog and I enjoyed it.
Love this park and area, perfect for an outing with the entire family including the fur babies! Trail is flat enough for little ones to enjoy, always clean and the grassy area near the beginning across the bridge is so relaxing and perfect for picnics.
Beautiful park with rock climbing, hiking, biking and dog walking through beautiful trees along the Deschutes River.
Got hectic and I’m going back home now. Loved the park. My daughter loved it and the logs loved her. Great all around. So pretty!
One of my favorite small parks in town. The trails and surrounding areas are well maintained and there's beautiful rock features around the park. A larger grassy area opens up after going up the trail past the bridge. Great place to take the dogs or just go on a walk! My only complaint is that the local JW cult preach there often but they're pretty easy to ignore
Been coming here since I was a kid. Lots of lizards, snakes, fish, minnows, crawdads, birds, chipmunks, you name it! Walking paths along the river, couple slow deep areas for swimming, early spring, take a few steps, and baby snakes all take off from hiding. High rock areas for relaxing or beautiful pictures. Some rasberry plants for fresh eating. Great family park. Good place for company picnics as well, open grass areas and picnic tables.
Wow! How beautiful is Bend?!? Sawyer Park sits right off of O.B. Riley Road. And once you enter the park you certainly feel like you’ve just stepped away from all of the hustle bustle and busyness of life. There is ample parking, plenty of picnic tables, chances to see deer and bird watch, and to hear the sound of the calming Deschutes River as it rushes by. There is s also a bridge that carries you over to the side where you can pick up the Deschutes River Trail that offers miles of opportunities.
