BEND, what a lovely town. We visited to see one of our favorite artists play at the Tower Theater, what a joy it was. We found Bend very walkable, with lovely parks and numerous choices of restaurants / bars. WHAT FUN! It was an eight hour drive from Bellingham, Washington but worth every minute. Do yourself a favor and visit Bend, at least once!
Brooks park is Amazing! It’s small but it’s location along the west banks of the centerpiece of Bend; Mirror Pond. This is a perfect place to enjoy lunch, sunbathe, or launch some personal watercraft to explore the river above the park. Immediately downriver from the park is a bridge and a spillway that splits the accessibility while on the water. AN UNDERUSED AND OVERLY FANTASTIC PLACE!!! MUST SEE!!!!
This was a beautiful place to be, I will be coming back that is for sure. I wish I could find some friends that wanted to go on adventures with me so I didn't have to be so lonely a the time. Maybe one day I will be that lucky
Has a little dock where you can put in your paddleboard/kayak what have you. Often lots and LOTSS of goose/duck poop. If you're brave with the poop ocean, you can float the river all the way down to here and not be getting out with the crowds at the other park. But be warned the poop swamp.
Goose poop management would improve everyone's experience...especially with small children in tow.
It's amazing to see memorials to honor the falling
Great place to easily launch a canoe or kyack!
Brooks Park houses the armed forces and first responder memorial in Bend. In addition to great Deschutes River views, the park has canoe, kayak, and stand up paddle board access. Limited street parking in the neighborhood.
Beautiful grass & walkways with reasonable launch, but severely limited parking on dangerously narrow two-way street. that should be one way
Our "dog" liked it...
