Riverside Motel

nmore if I couldnI rarely write reviews, but my experience at the Riverside Motel deserves recognition. We've been returning here for four years, and this year was particularly memorable. We usually stay in the cottages, but due to a last-minute request from another party wanting to extend their stay, we were offered two separate rooms instead.nnInitially, I was hesitant to switch since we had four adults, and sharing beds wasn’t ideal. However, when we arrived, we found ourselves in two spacious rooms with two queen beds in each, complete with showers and TVs. The level of comfort exceeded our expectations!nnHaving stayed in various suites, I can confidently say that these rooms are exceptionally clean, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The little kitchenette was a nice touch too.nnWe always look forward to our fishing trips here, especially since the motel is just five minutes from the marina. A huge thank you to the staff and management for making our stay so enjoyable. We've stayed here for 3 years in a row with our dog and have an amazing stay every time! The front desk lady was so kind and friendly, I wish I got her name! The rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean! It's quiet and safe and it feels very homey! We will continue to come back every year.

Aug 6, 2024: Thank you, Brittney at the front counter, for your help in resolving our booking issue. Our group of 4 had reserved a 1-night stay at one of the larger cottages that included 4 Queen beds. However, when we arrived at the unit, there were only 3 beds. We informed Brittney, and presented our confirmation receipt showing the booked unit included 4 beds. She was patient & very understanding, and helped us call her boss to explain the situation. In the end, we found out the source of the discrepancy, and they granted us additional room & bed. A wonderful surprise, and it really shows the staff & management's amazing customer service :

Nice clean place. I had to check in late so called to let them know and they had the keys ready as the office closes around 8. Never saw anyone from the staff as I got there late and left early, but nice clean place/ portable AC in the room so it was comfortable. As others have noted, right on a busy road so if you are in one of the lowered numbered rooms closer to the road you are likely to get some road noise.

Was not told that construction was happening in the room next to me. So I was awaken on my holidays feeling like there was an earthquake. And when I was showering the water turned off mi shower. I am a very easy going person but when I went to the manager/owner to tell her the situation she just looked at me blankly and never even apologized. I feel I should have been compensated for that night. But that wasn’t offered. I come to a dog show every year in port alberni and I will not return to this motel. Really to bad. Because the rooms are nice and clean. Customer service is awful. And when there the most expensive motel in port alberni they should have good customer service.
