Riverdale Family

As the past reviews below indicated its simple its new ownership and just basic breakfast spot. My review basically gives it abit of an up on taste but service was poor. Was advised by waiter there all out of menus so I'll need to wait was only 6 other tables in a 50 table place.. I ordered the "riverdale eggs benedict" And was told they don't have that, so I repeated my order and she said oh sorry we do have that. Coffee was hot, food was hot and the taste was there. I'd come back again but not any time soon. Must admit never thought I'd see Kraft single cheese used for egg benidict but there's always something new. So on my way out I noticed the chef, long hair no hair net. Normally I do not leave some very negative reviews however i couldn't let this one slide. The basic of a resturaunt are clean and hot food. Cleaniness starts with your Chef period! Hopefully someone working at this location read my review.

Fantastic service and old school diner fare. Great portions and pretty tasty, too. Definitely a great, regular Canadian breakfast type. Really good coleslaw too and I'm picky.

I just want to take a moment and really give this family restaraunt a raving review. Me and my son absolutely love the food quality & quantity, warmth, sincerity and welcoming staff. Especially their appreciation for their customers; with heart warming notes on their receipts. We appreciate your service

My father and I went here for Father's Day breakfast, and were EXTREMELY dissatisfied with the quality of service. When we first got there the restaurant was very busy, and understandably so, considering it was Father's Day. Upon sitting down we noticed that a lot of the customers were very unhappy, but figured they were just being rude. We later realized that this was not the case. In the span of time it took us to receive our meal, 10+ tables had left, due to how unorganized the staff was. After placing our order it took nearly an hour for food to arrive. Once it had, the toast was missing. After waiting 20 minutes, and asking 3 different waitresses, we finally got our toast as well. We also noticed that one of the waitresses was extremely unprofessional with the comments that she made, and her choices of words was not suitable for an establishment where children are. I have worked in kitchens before, knowing the stress that it can cause, and that sometimes orders are behind. But there has to be a certain level of organization needed to make the best of these situations. It shouldn't take over an hour just to finally get your order of eggs and bacon. I will not be eating there again, and advise that others don't as well.

Nothing special. Cheap/bland breakfast diner. The french server is great, love her. The other blonde one, terrible service. Forgot part of our order, and didn't fill up water or coffee once. Currently sitting here waiting for her to bring us our bill. She's walked by us and hasn't even acknowledged that we're done. We come here frequently, and usually have a good time. Again, of the two servers, one is great and one is awful.

If you want a good restaurant to eat at this isn't the place. Be forewarned the food came to the table cold they're severely understaffed the waitress was observed multiple times running after neglecting the chefs call for food being ready the eggs were cold the French toast was called the bacon was completely dried out and after an hour I finally got a second cup of coffee and no one ever came to refill the water. This place needs to close or they need to hire Cooks and waitresses. I will say one last thing the restaurant was very clean but after the customers had left none of the tables were cleaned up after tables were left with dirty dishes on them for half an hour or more

May 24/14 - Restaurant has improved with new ownership. Had not been here for awhile as was disappointed with food & service some time ago. There was 5 of us for diner. There was a good choice of meals on the menu along with 3 specials of the day. All our meals were cooked to our satisfaction, good portions not too little, not too much & tasty. Waitress was brand new & made mistakes, but she tried hard and was attentive. Overall experience was good. Will come back.
