They stopped doing walk-in appointments a while ago and now they ask you to call in the morning to book an appointment. Lately every time I call I get a busy tone followed by a disconnect. One time a receptionist picked up the phone told me that if I showed up in person at 9am I would have a better chance at getting an appointment. Is that not a walk in appointment then? It was a great place precovid; now it seems like not a single one of the staff there, doctors included, cares about the quality of their work.
Doctors are alright, receptionists however… wow… absolutely horrible customer service. You phone to make an appointment and are treated by a women who is EXTREMELY rude to people and really just doesn’t seem like a people person. Maybe she should find a new job! If this town wasn’t so limited on walk-in clinics, I probably wouldn’t return here.
I waited 25 minutes after I was supposed to have my appointment, and the doctor had no idea about the hospital doing wisdom teeth extractions. I was referred from the hospital to visit a walk in for an appointment instead of waiting hours in emerg. save your time and go somewhere else.
I went to this clinic due to my normal walk in being closed due to physician shortage. I have been without a GP for 1.5 years. The front staff was very friendly when I explained I needed a prescription refill and promised a dr would call me. When I received the call I was reprimanded by the physician for the amount of ADHD medications I have been prescribed for 11 years. I was told by the doctor that he would refill my medication this one time and that my dosage was very high and if I ever called in again which I didn’t, his staff arranged the phone call he would not take my call. He informed me that I needed to find a GP, when I agreed and asked him if he could refer me a doctor that was currently accepting new patients I was ignored. He then went on to berate me for my anxiety medication which I was not even refilling at the time and questioned my need for my medication again explaining it was a high dose. He had access to my prescriptions and could easily see I was not abusing my meds in anyway and that they were consistent yet still made me feel like I was a junkie because of the level of my adhd. I have NEVER experienced such poor bedside manner or ever been made to feel like my mental health issues should be something I should be ashamed of. It is NOT my fault the island does not have enough physicians to accommodate us and is even less my fault that I was in need of medications that would assist me in living a “normal” life. Again the front line staff was amazing, the doctor however was absolutely horrible and should be ashamed for making me feel the way he did for medications I have been on for over a decade.
Don't waste your time getting stiches up here. Totally inefficient. Told I need an appointment and the waiting room had one person in it. Told reception I had 4 stiches to be removed. No go. What a waste of tax payers dollars. Go to Walmart Clinic for fast efficient no B's service!. A complaint will go to Island health as I was advised to go to the emergency department at hospital.Shame on them.
Great clinic! Receptionist was able to fit me in on short notice for an in-person appointment despite the clinic being very busy. I saw Dr. Wong and he was a very caring, compassionate, and thorough doctor which I really appreciated.
I recently traveled to Campbell River to begin a short vacation and to my exasperation found I forgot to bring my medications with me don't get old, you forget things!. My brother was able to get me in to see the physician there who checked my list of medications, decided what I needed to continue my medications coverage, and wrote prescriptions to help me acquire what I needed. He was thorough, treated me very professionally, and did so with good humor and a great personality. I couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you

Good staff... extremely poor morning phone system.
Very comfortable waiting room where you can nap for the hour and a half it takes to get in for your 5 minute appointment. Great doctors and staff though.
