Car-themed diner. Great place to go eat! Lots of great food and they also have a giant mimosa!! That's on my list for the next visit. Yes, I'm definitely going back! Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options!
Burrito was very very large stuffed with steak and the usual. There were so many jalapeños actually had to take some out. Overall very good. The shipwreck breakfast platter that I had was loaded with lots of meat and eggs. Loved it. There was a huge mimosa option that says includes a full bottle of champagne, we saw one being consummed but didn't have it in us that morning to try. Be patient with your servers as there were less of them than could accommodate all patrons.
The eggs Benedict flight looked so good I couldn't wait to take a photo before digging in. Only 12 bucks! I chose Cruz, Florentine, and Country. Nom nom nom. Enough for breakfast and lunch. My coffee cup holds a surprise: coffee and cream with Kahlua. What's not to love? Good service, too. Parking: Big parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: Tables are spaced for easy access.
I've never had a bad meal. Cruz's Cafe is a fun local diner with generous portions, made to order. Just be prepared to wait as they're often busy.Food: 5/5
Someone at the doggy daycare recommended this place to me. I sat at the bar as I normally do when I'm dining alone. The server was quick to greet me as soon as I walked in and again when I sat. She was patient while I looked through the menu and was attentive when I put the menu down. My coffee was fresh and served immediately. I ordered an eggs benedict flight which included 3 different types for those of us that can't make a decision. I got the Country, Mardi Gras, and Florentine. With all 3 vastly different from each other, I'm surprised that they were all so good! The country gravy was reminiscent of the gravy my aunt would make for holidays. The shrimp were plump and cooked correctly while the andouille sausage was perfectly spiced on the Mardi Gras. The Florentine was absolutely perfect in the way the sautéed spinach complemented the diced tomatoes and hollandaise. Everything was good here! From staff to cleanliness to attentiveness to decor. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
If you’re coming for the cinnamon roll in the pictures it’s not the same now, less icing by far. Otherwise I had the Breakfast burrito which was pretty good. My wife had a waffle which was nice and fluffy. Kids had the pancakes which were good as well. Overall a solid place to go.
GREAT breakfast! Service was outstanding. Packed on a Wednesday morning, so the word is getting around. Not a fan of concrete floors, but the wall/ceiling decor reduces the volume/echoes. Spanish omelet was monstrous and delicious. Sausage gravy was a B+, coulda been hotter. Must try!!Food: 5/5
We enjoyed the local decor. Great breakfast food and service. Food: 5/5
Next time I'm in cedar rapids I will definitely be coming back! Breakfast was amazing! Staff was super kind, inside was clean, and atmosphere was calm and quiet. This is a wonderful place to get a great breakfast and spend the morning with a book. Thank you to the staff for being so kind and considerate. I'll for sure be back.Food: 5/5
My wife and I were in town for work/her birthday/our anniversary. Knowing that we were just in town for one night and leaving in the morning, my client recommended Riley's Cafe and after my wife did some research online, we ended up at what she believed used to be Riley's but was now called Cruz's. It was a busy Saturday morning but they were able to turn over tables quickly. The service couldn't have been better or friendlier and the food was AMAZING! When I get steak and eggs anywhere else, I get a flat, greasy pan steak. I still like it that way but at Cruz's, I got a real, thick and juicy steak! My wife's Greek omelet was fantastic, too! The food was prepared faster and more efficiently than almost anywhere we have eaten lately, near home. The experience was made even better by the fact that someone who saw my wife's check-in on FB anonymously called and paid for our meal! So, while I can't directly credit Cruz's for that, it was nice that our server seemed to take such delight in letting us know. Next time we are in town, we will be having another meal there, for sure! Parking: Despite being busy, there was plenty of parking.
