Retro Fitness

Retro is a step above Planet and a step behind lifter gyms. This is a great gym for a quick pump, clean showers and a tasty smoothie. Retro has a good selection of plate loaded machines, 1 squat rack, 1 smith and 1 leg press machine a good amount of machines heavy dumbbells. Their functional training area however is top notch! sleds, ropes and open area are something that most gyms don't and can't offer to members. Customer service wise i have never had an issue what-so-ever.

Well as for a few comments I've seen about management they have been much more proffesional then some other places.Equipment is very good and kept up well.As for policies its a business that follows its corporate rules.In general this comment section seems to be scued one way or another.The gym is a gym....love it or hate it,its inside you who loves to lift and train.Yes no planet fitness lunk alarm is a plus,and not having chalk covering every inch of floor is a plus.So its a in between.Like it and go or don't and go somewhere else.You will always have the list of top to bottom ,in a middle gym.Meaning not strictly power lifting and not all Richard Simmons.pretty simple.About as real of a truth you will get.

Retro fitness of Albany in colonie is one of the most welcoming gyms I’ve ever been to. The staff was outstanding. Ang question i had they had an answer for. Whenever i walked in regardless of how bad or good my day was the staff always had a smile on their faces and had such warm and welcoming attitudes that just helped me look forward to my workout. They had excellent instructors for their group x classes and the personal trainers are extremely knowledgeable. They have an amazing turf room in the back. The gym is always clean, the equipment is easy to use and there is so much variety of machines whether it be cardio or any kind of strength training. I got a really good deal when singing up too. The manager was able to set up a really great special for me. Overall this place is great it higher energy and always such a positive atmosphere.

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, clean machines/ facility, wide variety of classes for all types of workouts, personal training and tanning. I can't rave enough about this gym! Also they have a great selection of protein and supplements avaible for whatever my body needs that day.

This is the spot for someone with zero knowledge but want to achieve their fitness goals. I would Start with the team classes which has various hours during the week The certified professionals show you how to utilize the equipment so you will achieve results. Not injuries. I personally seen gym members on a weekly basis use what they learned in the classes which encourged them to mimic the routines in their individual progress and all the trainers are allways checking on their progress through question asking Not some quick good Job remark at a gym members and speed walking away. Another way to prove is the Wall near the water foutains where you see gym members bragging about their results with the, pictures to prove it and the outcome they have acheved and are acheving currently. I been to all the gyms and i dont relive the nightmere of othergyms who have to read a script to teach clients or check with their boss to see if they are teaching the exercise mechanics properly. The employees here have long exstensive background history of knowledge of how to achieve weight loss and muscle gain. I personally i lost close to 70 pounds and half way towards my goal within 5 months with their help
