Reno Depot

Nice selection of home improvement items, you may not find elsewhere, and in good quantity for the most part. Yes get rid of the stop signs. Plenty of staff that tried very hard to help but they were completely untrained had next to no product knowledge. They could not even tell me what the stores return policy was or whether the bathtub I purchased came with the drain trim, or where their drain trims were. I had to explain in detail what that was, and they seem confused when I pointed to the drain in the bathtub.

The front line staff there are nice, but management needs some serious improvement. When an identical item was offered at a competitor, I requested a price match plus 15% off as per policy. The cashier was only able to price match, but not offer the 15% as the manager won't approve it. The cashier was very polite and apologetic about it, but the price match policy is very misleading. If you read the fine print, it has to be offered on a flyer a competitor webpage does not qualify. Also, there only have ONE cashier open for the entire store on a busy summer weekend afternoon, wait times can be 10-15 minutes to pay.

Was at the store Tuesday Nov 13 at 8 PM, found a great deal on a patio set on clearance but unfortunately we didn't have the right vehicle with us to transport it home that evening. I returned the following day to find the "sale" tag had been covered up with a new tag at a lesser discount. I asked to speak with a manager who quite abruptly told me that the price had changed and that they were not willing or able to honor the original sale price. As the store does price matching I dont believe this to be the truth as they can adjust pricing on other products. I suppose I now understand why this store is closing. Enjoy the unemployment line ***EDIT*** After a conversation with a "proper" manager the store agreed to sell the product at the advertised price. Still unhappy with the level of customer service and knowledge of the floor employees.

Seems well staffed but no one offered to help. An item had two different prices listed and the staff initially didn’t want to honour the lower price saying that the old price was due to come down, but it hadn’t been done yet. Eventually honoured the price, but had to wait over 10 minutes for this to be sorted out. Really helpful cashier who completely saw where we were coming from and was very kind. Otherwise products seemed well priced.

Been going to it regularly for several years now. Pretty much the only home improvement store in north Calgary that has really good sales - it is always worth watching their flyers. Staff have always been helpful when I've needed their help. Some different variety of stock compared to other stores as well.

This store used to have great service. Recently the level of customer service had dropped significantly. Just had an employee call me an idiot to my face. As a contractor I'm sure that a retail sales associate knows much better than I do. Never again Reno Depot.

Horrible experiences at Reno depot -Non-friendly staffs especially Jenn. They have bad attitude and doesn't prioritize customers as number #1 -Cannot use welcome $10 offer. Then why is it not welcoming? I know it cannot combine with other offers, but it's only $10 offer and 20% in store...this is not welcoming and no savings for us. -Prices are rip-offs. Try price-matching to get lower prices like Canadian Tires. I found exact same products and price-matched it. Again, the staffs were rude and didn't want to give it to us. -Staffs are not around to help you guide directions in a big store. I rather go to Canadian tire since the staffs are very friendly and prices are about the same.

Today I was at your Symons Valley Rd location. I went in to look for a window squeegee and a paper towel dispenser. On entry I noticed 5 staff members standing around at the customer service desk talking. On the floor I could not find anyone to help find what I was looking for! You had 2 products available for the window squeegee... the products were not easy to find and not of good quality! The paper dispenser I could not find! When I went to the till, after standing in line because only one till open, the lady at the till couldn't find the bar code to scan, she made me go find another one so that she could scan. I walked all the way back to find a new one and walked past those same people at customer service just standing around! Then walked back and stood in line again! Not sure if you recognize the issue here! I think I will drive the extra 10 km to visit Home Depot if this is the kind of customer service one can expect from Reno Depot Lowes and Rona

All the one stars for poor customer service, you're the problem. Reno depot is/was perfectly fine. Developed my whole basement with 95% reno depot items, never had a single problem. Sometimes I go to home depot for something I cant find, big deal. But usually Reno depot is/was good enough. It was just nice to have a hardware store so close.

Worst customer service experience. I gave an exact paint number to match and ended up with a color that’s 4 shades too dark. The store refused to return understandable since the paint can had been opened but wasn’t my fault since I obviously expected it to be an exact match and the “manager” Sandy was of no help and instead of making an exception for providing me the completely wrong color, she threatened to write up the employee who told me to go back to the store the original paint was bought from to get an exact match. Sandy then shows up to the paint counter and whispers to the employee about how he shouldn’t have told me to go to Home Depot and leaves without apologizing to me or saying another word to me. Clearly the paint counter guys know more than this “manager” so if they say the base could be different at another store and you could end up with a totally different shade with a different base, I believe them but Sandy insisted if the paint number matches, then the paint should’ve been an exact match, which clearly it’s not. She implied that I’m lying about it not being an exact match because clearly it is enjoyable for me to run back and forth to the store for no reason. Save your time and money and drive a little bit further to Home Depot, where the employees and especially managers are a lot more convenient and professional to deal with.
