Really nice place compared to other registry’s around. Went here couple of times for health card and photo ID. The address proof for photo ID is required. They will click photos as well. Wait time is around 20:30 min; depending on queue length ahead of you. 14$ / 1 year validity. Alberta ID. You can also have driver’s test to have driving license. Got to know cannot keep more than one photo ID. E.g if I go for driving license next , they will take my Alberta ID AND do upgrade.
I was at Registry Express to update my address after a recent move. I spent a short time waiting in the queue for my turn and was promptly attended to. This was on Saturday and I got my new licence 6 days later!
Definitely recommend Registry Express. The lines aren't too long and the agents are very fast, polite, and efficient. I also took my 5 road test at Registry Express, my examiner was Ahmed. Throughout the entire test he was not only professional and very knowledgeable, but also friendly and calm. His directions were very precise and accurate and he made it abundantly clear what he wanted done. Overall he was a very positive person and a great examiner.
My experience with the road test here was pleasant. Ken was my instructor and he was excellent in his candor and knowledge of the road system. My test was booked through the alberta examination website to start at 9, but the registry opened at 9 and there's a clause that requires drivers to arrive 30 minutes early to prepare everything. Despite the time discrepancy, they still had me out the door and into a test before 9:20. Excellent staff and instructors. Also, I didn't catch her name but the nice Asian lady in glasses who worked the far left counter is very kind and polite.
I visited Registries Express to do my Class 5A advanced road test. The entire check in process went smoothly. The examiner Ahmed was kind and courteous. Despite my nerves, he made me feel at ease and relaxed. I would highly recommend this location and the examiner.
Express Registry is the best place to go to, with minimum waiting times, and you even have access to some services online, such as booking your road test appointment. Great place for road tests. Highly recommended. Ahmed is an amazing examiner with clear details and makes the driver feel comfortable during the test with with his calm and positive attitude.
I always had pleasant experience in this registry, staff are nice and efficient. Due to that fact, I booked my basic driving test here. I read many positive reviews and wanted to give it a go. My examiner was Ken, he was five minutes late. Then he came to me, introduced him to me, checked the car lights etc and I drove off. His instructions came bit late, especially when he asked me to do a parallel parking where there were not enough space behind the car that I’m supposed to do parking and it was a corner. According to the instructions I read about the test, unless I drove off to a curb, there should be room for three attempts which I was not allowed to. He seemed to have a real attitude. Just be aware, ken has some set of rules in his head. He expects us to drive like him. He did not explain how I lost my marks and I cannot read his scribbled handwriting.
My wife did her road test here. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Her examiner Ahmed was a very kind man who made her feel comfortable during her test. She's had bad experiences in the past and this was a nice change. The staff was also very friendly. 100% would recommend.
As a newcomer to Calgary, my experience here was pleasant and efficient. I went there with the intention of swapping my existing driver's license but the agent who worked with me even assisted with the health insurance application. I did not spend more than 20 mins from start to finish. Once you have all your documents in order, the process is smooth and effortless.
The only decent registry I've been to in the NW. Gave both my learner's and road test here and the experience was infinitely better than the last place I went to, thanks to my examiner's Ahmed patience and friendly attitude. Highly recommend though there is usually a line up.
