Red Roof PLUS+ Hartford Downtown

What was suppose to be an affordable hotel in the heart of downtown Hartford turned into a nightmare. I woke up in the middle of the night to my hotel room floor soaked with water after it rained. The bathroom ceiling was full of water and was on the verge of craving in. I informed the front desk of the situation around 1am. After hours of waiting for a response, the maintenance man came back at 5:45a and suggested we move to another room further down the hall. After declining to move because we were leaving in the next few hours, I went downstairs to talk to the manager to be accommodated for the water. The manager quickly became irate and began to complain that I have been nothing but an issue since arriving at the hotel. After explaining my situation countless times, she threatened to call the police because she no longer wanted to speak with me about the accommodation. Red Roof Plus is the equivalent to a hostel. The conditions of the building both inside and out were unacceptable for a hotel. This hotel have a serious rodent issue as seen in the parking lot. The rats were having a field day in the dumpsters that were positioned too close to the building. Don’t wait your time or money staying at this hotel. Even the location isn’t worth the hassle.

Visited for my huband's convention. Loved it. Great location, good breakfast, friendly front desk staff, comfy beds.

Clean and courteous, and next to all the restaurants and bars down town. Exactly what we wanted. 100% would stay here again.

They are lazy and don't check to see if your room is available and the woman of color at the front desk is a racist... I will never stay here again... horrible services... So if in hartford check iut the hilton it will. Make your jaw drop in comparison

When we first checked into the room it smelled terribly like old stale cigarette smoke. They sent us to a second room and when we entered the room, it hadn't been cleaned. They sent us to a third room and this room was good.. We even had an awesome view of the capitol building.
