I have spent months here years ago.  It has been upgraded since and even better than before.  The staff is friendly, location is great, and always quiet and comfortable

I love Homewood Suites hotels and this one is no exception. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. The hotel is also nicely situated in the heart of Hartford.

Where to begin. When you first show up, you are directed by a tiny sign that you can easily miss to park in a shared lot. You will then be harassed every time without fail to provide a parking ticket, even with the other half of that ticket obviously hanging from your read view mirror. Also, the "parking attendants" will occasionally just leave so that's fun. So, the beginning already feels like a scam. After entering from the parking lot, I had to walk through a service corridor into the actual lobby. I overheard a kid behind me say that the hallway was scary, I can understand. Once arriving, I put into a small room, ya know, cause I'm staying at a Homewood Suites so I obviously want a single room about 2/3 the size of a standard Hilton room. Next, it took me over an hour to fall asleep because of the following: First, the door that was 1 1/2 feet away from mine was weighted to slam when it closed. So, at 1am, every 5 minutes I got to listen to a loud slamming door because the teenagers next to me had a lot of friends, none of which wanted to sleep. Next, the window the faces the street is made of cheap glass so that any and all sound reaches into your room. I was treated to every conversation out on the street. To compensate for this, the hotel provides 25 cent earplpugs. Yes Homewood, I obviously want to shove stuff into my ears as opposed to you doing something as simple as used double-pane glass to block the noise. Finally, the AC in the room was as loud as a unit used in a Motel 6. It was loud, it rattled, it was cheap. Apparently, this hotel seems to not understand that people come to a hotel to sleep and that a big part of going to sleep is actual silence.

Good news though, since I lost so much sleep, I was very tired when I woke up. The hotel fixed this problem by treating me to a cold shower since it did not have any hot water..at all. When I called the front desk, they said it was because too many people were using hot water. That's right, a hotel is incapable of providing hot water to their guests. According to another guest I talked to, this had been an issue for at least a couple of hours so the terrible excuse provided by the front desk was not only dumb, but it was also a lie. 

Finally, when you leave, you don't know how you will manage it. The main back door to said parking lot sometimes doesn't work. One time it works, 10 minutes later through the same door, nothing. It just sits there, closed. Lets hope there are never any emergencies at this location because who knows if you'll actually be able to leave. Well, I did leave, two days early because when I travel, I like weird things like sleep and hot water. Too much for this hotel to handle obviously.

Nice hotel that make u feel like home. U can make ur own meals with the kitchen they have and good relaxing
