Red Roof Inn Wilkes-Barre Arena

Convenient location off the highway. Allows pets, even large breeds (they don't discriminate). Not far from downtown. Rooms could have been cleaner but for the price and pet-friendly it's what I'd expect. No bed bugs.

I really liked the room, like that it's close to gas stations, stores restaurants. Prices are responsible. Didn't care for the 1 women in office. Does always have coffee, Free. Maintenance man is cool guy, he helped me out when my son locked me out of the room. Uggggg. Oh pets allowed which is important to me.

First of all the front desk staff is extremely rude! I called down to ask if there were any more rooms because additional family had come into town for the wedding and was told “no why what’s wrong with yours?” I then told her I was asking because others need rooms and again was told the hotel was booked. (Turned Out not to be true) But I complained about mine while I had her on the phone. First room I was put in had water coming up from the floor boards, dirty toilet, mold around the tub, and hair in the bed. I called and complained and was told maintenance would be coming up. Waited nearly an hour and called again and was told to come get a key for another room. But wait...aren’t you guys sold out??? (Turns out the water from the floor boards was from a leaking toilet and was a known problem in that room, according to the maintenance guy who happened to be the only staff member that even made eye contact let alone hold a conversation) My second room was better but there was hair in that bed as well underneath the fitted sheet on top of the mattress cover(looked like three different kind) and the night stand hadn’t even been wiped down and the fridge and microwave looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a while. I didn’t even bother complaining about that one because I knew nothing would be done. But I made sure to take pictures, with time stamps, of both rooms. Oh and not to mention the black beetle looking bugs that took over one night. I understand you get what you pay for so I wasn’t expecting the red carpet but I was definitely expecting a clean and sanitary room. I should not of had to go to Walmart for my own cleaning supplies and sheets after a 10 hour drive. I probably wouldn’t even be writing this had the staff acted as if they cared and rectified the situation then

Quite possibly one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. I was in town briefly for a business event. The front desk staff was kind and helpful - The room on the other hand - the entire sink was cracked from front to back. There were spiders throughout the room, the bathroom was disgusting, mold in the shower, drains was corroded, the ceiling was coming down in one part, the AC wasn't working properly - there was hardly any water pressure in the shower. I actually felt dirty after staying here. The base boards are polluted with dust and fur, the bed had never been cleaned or vacuumed. The price is cheap but should definitely be cheaper for the presentation. Not at all impressed even for a quick 2 night stay.

Clean, comfortable, well maintained room with plenty of space. The superior room came with a box of goodies, and more contemporary bed linens and furnishings. The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. We would gladly stay there again.
