Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! First time visiting this location and previously visited their former location years ago. Walked in on a Sunday night and glad to have been seated at the sushi line. Definitely love the vibe and service. Sushi is pretty good. Hope to visit again when I am in town.
Came in for happy hour and still managed to spend a good amount of money Great rolls, good service, and delicious drinks. The cauliflower was surprisingly the best part of the meal. Also subbed my rice for forbidden rice on a roll, which was delicious but messy. Vegetarian options: They have a number of vegan and vegetarian rolls
We’ve been to RED multiple times as our go-to special event spot. The first visit was phenomenal! However, the quality has declined a bit over time. Presentation and sushi is still fantastic, but the price point seems to be riding the reputation a bit and it doesn’t always feel worth the cost to indulge anymore.
I’ve just returned from living in Japan for 3 years and this is the best sushi that I have been able to find in Madison. It’s extremely fresh and beautifully prepared. The staff was friendly & attentive. I can’t wait to come back again.
The best sushi place in town. Good place for date night. Good ambience with red color interior theme. Friday nights are busy. Recommended reservation. Chef's and waitress were friendly. Red signature roll is amazing. Mini explosion happening in our mouth for every bite. Ingredients were fresh. Food presentation is appetizing. If Someone wants to see the preparation and talk with chefs, then ask for chef's table. Waitress was friendly, and service was great. Window side, winter night, sangria and sushi - one of the best combo. Outdoor seating available. Main Entrance is inside a building whose entrance faces southeast. Wheel chair accessible. I will come back to this restaurant. And for sushi lovers I recommend visiting it.
Fantastic Sushi. I came here for my girlfriend’s birthday and they brought out a cute candle to her. She ordered sushi and I ordered the wagyu beef ribs. It was all fantastic. A bit pricey but worth every dollar. We ordered one of the gin cocktails as well and it was delicious. By far the best sushi I have had. If you are looking for a good sushi place in Madison for a special night out this is the place.
Absolutely amazing as always!! Fabulous flavor combinations. The staff were extremely attentive. They even gave the birthday girl her sushi in a boat, with a flower and candle.
The BEST sushi place I have ever been into. If you haven’t had any sushi before, this is the place to try it out. We had the super volcano on the left and mermaid on the right. It is an explosion of flavors one after another in a single sushi. Everything is fresh and on point. Highly recommended
Service is wonderful! Was worried because 6 tables were sat the the same time as us and we needed to make the show, but everything came out in a very timely manner. Sushi is fresh and delicious! Highly recommend, even if you're full, splurge on the sorbet-you won't regret it!
Gorgeous interior with great food and drinks! There is a great patio for outdoor dining as well. The waitstaff are all incredibly nice and helpful. This was our first time at Red and we'll definitely be returning! The cocktails were impressive and delicious, and all with the sake and/or Japanese whiskeys did a great job with balancing the flavors while maintaining the Japanese focus. Very, very good. The sushi rolls were quite experimental and delightful - this is sushi I don't believe I'd find anywhere else in Madison, especially with the seasonal rolls! Tons of creative options that are all well balanced, delicious, and presented beautifully. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The hostesses also gave us the option to sit outside if we wanted. My fiance and I ordered five rolls since we wanted to try many of the flavors, and our waitress divided up the order so they wouldn't crowd the table. Incredibly considerate and thoughtful. We had a lot of fun at Red and we'll absolutely be returning!
