The food was great. Absolutely loved the salmon better than the steak in my opinion. The drinks were well made, too. Not too sweet. The only reason I’m giving Graft 4 stars instead of 5 is because our waiter was kind of stand-offish.
Had an amazing date night for my girlfriends bday! We enjoyed everything we had and service was a bit slow but we enjoyed not feeling rushed!! The scallops were incredible, and the steak was very good as well! They even brought a special dessert for the birthday. One of the better spots in downtown Madison!
Great drinks, awesome dishes, best staff. The menu doesn't look big, but there is plenty there to please a party of four plus. The cocktail menu was amazing. To top it all off, the staff was great - from the hostess to the bartender to the person that waited on us.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: NoDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No
If you want to experience upscale tapas style food come to Graft!! Food, vibe, service, and ambience is a 10/10! Visited on a Tuesday night for mid week celebrations and had a wonderful experience. Made reservations and glad that I did, because the place was busy. Strongly recommend making reservation. For starters we got the monkey bread, green beans, and croquettes. The green beans were delicious, we had to order it twice. The buttermilk dressing on the dish was amazing. The croquettes were melting in the mouth and the monkey bread was excellent. We went on to order the albacore tuna, House-made spaghetti, scallops, and swordfish. Each of the dishes were so beautifully prepared and tasted amazing. The dishes were so colorful and the presentation was really nice. The desserts were simply WOW! Kudos to the pastry chef for the lovely desserts. The spoon cake is out of this world. Also, the pot de creme with the coconut shavings on top was so tasty. Service was great and staff was friendly! The manager was really sweet and stopped by a few times. So glad they reopened their doors again. Add this place to your list of fancy Madison restaurants!!
Small plates, classy atmosphere, and strong drinks. I wasn't sure what to expect when we went here, but it turned out to far exceed our expectations. Everything we tasted was amazing!
Graft was absolutely amazing and definitely worth a try. I really enjoyed the new your strip with spinach and paneer it was very different but great.
The salmon dinner was THE BEST salmon we've had in years. Perfectly cooked, great vegetable selection with it. Of course, everything on the menu is great. We've never been disappointed with anything at Graft. Food and drinks are perfect. Great manager, great staff, great chef and cooks. The best restaurant in Madison!
Maybe our new favorite upscale downtown restaurant. The food was extraordinary! Definitely recommend the pork tenderloin with the sticky rice and bok choy. Not sure what was in the sauce but it was an intricate blend of flavors that all worked So Well together. Totally yummy! The short ribs more like a brisket as others have mentioned was superb also. Ask for extra horseradish mousse if you are a fan. It complemented the dish perfectly. Desserts pots de creme and apple pie were very good. Service was great - everyone was pleasant and attentive but not intrusive. Our booth toward the back felt private enough for our date night. We had a 5:00 reservation on a Friday and really enjoyed the mellow vibe for about an hour, and then the joint was jumping!
We had three small plates and one large, which seemed just right for two people. An unusual salad with some pickled vegetables was fresh and surprisingly good; the chicken confit wasn't anything unexpected, but was perfectly executed. The large plate, short ribs, was amazing: it's been a long time since we've eaten anything as good. Desserts were pedestrian in comparison, I'd advise you to fill up on the dinner instead.
Lovely, laid back ambience with brick floors, wood paneling, and big barn doors. Service was quick and unobtrusive and the food is heavenly. We especially liked the green beans, smoked shrimp, monkey bread, and the mushrooms in the fettuccine. Plates were fairly small. The Tis the Season Sour won best cocktail!
