I came here due to YouTube Food Vlogger Mikey Chen. Plus it's a polish buffet, how could you not want to try it. Inside the atmosphere definitely has a European feel to it. Probably Polish, that would just make sense. They are only open on Saturday and Sunday and close at 8 pm. So if visiting from out of town that can make things difficult. The meal starts out with a cup of soup, in my case Chicken Noodle. It was very good and definitely warmed me up on a cold day. Next up was the buffet. This buffet had a plethora of options on it. I got a little bit of mostly everything. My one real disappointment was the food temp was lukish warm. It was all still very good, however I imagine it would have been even better hot. My favorite thing was the ribs and a cheese wrap thing. Both delicious. I didn't really not like any thing. Even the cold chicken was still good. The staff seemed very stern, just their way I guess. They were very efficient though. Overall for me a 4 star review. Not the best I've had, however it is the only Polish buffet I've had. Would I return? Absolutely.
A classic of Polish food in Chicagoland. The Polish buffet, which has been in existence for many years, serves traditional Polish cuisine. Countless selection of Polish dishes and all kinds of side dishes and desserts. In addition, everything in a traditional Polish interior design. Great service and clean everywhere. A great place for someone who really wants to eat their fill. Although it is only open on weekends, it is worth checking out.
I’d say it was ok at best. Meat was over cooked and dry. Dessert was decent . But for the price you would except more seafood options.
Amazing high quality old world fare for a reasonable price. The service is outstanding. The food is made with high quality ingredients. We come here at least twice a year. They also welcome parties of over 35people on weekdays but is only open from Friday night to Sunday night. This is a great Chicago culinary landmark. Kid-friendliness: They have a changing table at the ladies room.
We wanted to offer a luncheon for our dear friends and family, following my father's Memorial Service. We chose the Red Apple because we knew the food was excellent and would offer a wide variety of things for all our guests. The staff worked with us to assure that things would go smoothly. For a small fee, we were offered table linen that was prestine. Due to weather conditions, some of our guests seniors were unable to attend. The staff was able to make a price adjustment to what we agreed on, which helped with our budget. Some of us were even allowed to take a plate back to those not in attendance. We truly enjoyed our time together. The atmosphere felt intimate and the decor was lovely. It was semi private, so it felt very much like family dinner. Everyone enjoyed trying the different foods. It had been a stressful week for me, so having things go smoothly was a God send. We had a beautiful experience and will recommend them for those wishing to have large gatherings. I have always come away happy with the Red Apple in the past. We will be back. Parking: Limited, but conveniently located behind the establishment.
This is a truly great restaurant. The service was fast and friendly. The buffet was well stocked. Food was delicious. Decor and ambiance were pleasant and comfortable. We recommended the restaurant to our host later that evening!! Will return again.
Really authentic polish cuisine. You need to have a reservation for parties over 4. Buffet is open to the public only in the weekends after noon. If you leave hungry it's your own fault. Friendly staff and very cozy homey atmosphere. Restaurant is Clean and beautifully decorated.Food: 5/5
really wanted to like this place .. it was recommended by a few coworkers of mine. the night started out well, we were seated pretty quickly near the front and my waitress was polite. the food was okay, it’s what you expect from a mediocre buffet, except i found a piece of hair in my mashed potatoes. i spoke with the manager on duty and he told me eating at the red apple buffet is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you will find in your food. completely disgusted, i tipped the waitress and left. i definitely contacted the health department and am waiting to hear back from the better business bureau .. don’t seem like this place will be open much longer.
Very authentic Polish food and incredible service
By leaps and bounds the best buffet in town. Authentic Polish cuisine, hot, fresh, and delicious, with a good variety. Bring plenty of cash, it's not cheap and they don't take credit, but it's worth every penny. Vegetarian options: I hope you like potatoes. Parking: The small lot is often full, but you can park on either side of Milwaukee and walk a short distance.
