Rebel's Rock Irish Pub

We have drove by and so many time thought "someday we should stop there" today was that day, we took my parents for lunch and it was one of the most amazing meals I've eaten! The owners are so very friendly. This is a MUST to try if your looking for a good meal!!! We'll definitely be visiting more often!!

Lovely establishment very cozy. However, on a Tuesday evening there menu consisted of chips and more chips, chips with 5 types of cheese, chips with Stilton chips with... I was offered a 'Sheperd's pie' that was obviously re-heated with overpowering spices. As I was 1/4 through my dinner and half way through my pint ( an excellent cold Keiths I must say) when the waitress asked me to pay $2.00 because the band had started to play. I paid my bill and left.

If it wasn't staggering distance from my home, I'd never go. The beer selection is only good compared to 10 years ago. They've changed exactly one draft beer in the last two years. I'd accept the dive-y decor (some of my favorite haunts over the years have been dives) if the beer selection was decent, but it's not. Unless you really LOVE Guinness, there's nothing on tap to write home about. People say the food is good, but the place reeks pretty strongly of dishwasher and really old fryer grease every time I go, so I'm going to take a permanent pass on the grub. (I only go once in a blue moon for pints with a neighbour anyway, so food typically isn't on the agenda.) It's an authentic Irish pub you say? Sure, in the same way your local legion hall is an authentic Canadian pub. If Mississippi Queen ever gets a liquor license, I'll be happy never to return.
