This is a store where you spend more time standing in line at the checkout than actually shopping. Long queues are a constant issue here. There are too few registers open, even during peak hours. It feels like the management has no interest in ensuring customer comfort.nnWhat’s especially frustrating is that this situation never improves. There’s no organization and no respect for customers or their time.nnThis isn’t a one-time problem — it happens every single visit. Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I realized that my time means nothing to this store. It seems this was my last time shopping here.
I want to leave a detailed and serious review about my experience at this Superstore on 8 Street. What happened during the payment for my online order at the self-checkout was unacceptable, unprofessional, and deeply concerning from a privacy standpoint.nnWhile I was paying, one of the employees was openly looking into my phone, clearly trying to see what I was doing. I did NOT show my screen, nor did I give any permission for anyone to view my device. This is a direct violation of my privacy and personal information, which in Canada may constitute a breach of PIPEDA and Loblaw’s internal privacy policies. This is not a minor issue — this is serious.nnI was then told that my “type of order” is supposedly not allowed at the self-checkout. I immediately explained that I would gladly go to a staffed checkout, but the store had only TWO lanes open, each with lines of 5–6 customers with full carts. This was around 3 PM — peak time. Waiting would have taken at least 30 minutes.nnInstead of apologizing for the lack of staff or explaining why so few lanes were open, the employees began repeating the same statements in a rude and dismissive manner, without any attempt to understand the situation. A Customer Service employee approached me after I had already paid for my order over $300 and continued lecturing me, even showing some internal paper, instead of offering help or acknowledging the real issue.nnInstead of support — pressure.nInstead of customer service — rudeness.nInstead of respect — complete disregard for the problem the store itself created.nnI am your customer. I bring revenue to your store just like any other shopper, whether I shop in-store or online. Yet I was treated as if I intentionally did something wrong, even though I simply used an available checkout because there were no reasonable alternatives.nnMost importantly:nnMy privacy was violated, and this is a serious legal matter.nnI am already consulting with legal professionals and will be filing formal complaints with Loblaw leadership and the appropriate Canadian privacy authorities.nnAfter more than two years of shopping here, I can say with confidence that the checkout situation and staff behavior have only worsened. Constant long lines, minimal open lanes during peak hours, and now — a privacy violation.nnUnfortunately, I must say:nnthis is the worst Superstore in Saskatoon in terms of customer service, organization, and respect for customers.
We went grocery shopping this morning and noticed the kids yogurt drinks were EXPIRED on September 4th and still on the shelves today, September 13th. Absolutely disgusting! We have informed customer service 3 times now about the same issue and it continues happening. Always watch the expiry dates, especially at this store! UNACCEPTABLE!
The only reason I’m leaving this review is to say that the cashier today Donna was fantastic, and went above and beyond the usual transaction. Something as simple as putting wash clothes I bought into a produce bag to keep them clean and off the belt meant a lot.nnEverything else about the store is pretty rough, and it’s been that way for a while. Produce is consistently much lower quality than other stores and you have to hunt to find things that aren’t browning, gone bad, or already molding. Cans are often dinted, store is generally dirty, and it seems like half the things I came for aren’t stocked which is frustrating most trips.
So, recently pc express sending mouldy fruit and vegetables, expired items, not sending the store free item and guess what when you call or claim the missing or broken or expired items i found out it is not always refunded!!! Don’t trust check your card for the refund! It has been awhile and i just found out!! Also, they play around they didn’t send the free item and when i call they said in the next order and never sent and when i call they said will send it and guess what it is 6 pm and never arrived and when i called they ask about my name to give me a manager and when the manager pick up the call she said yes we are waiting! Waiting for what!! I don’t care about the free item i buy thousands every month and twice a week i place order and not always take the free items but now i want it so badly because for some reason they don’t want to give it! Not sure it is personal or what! I can easily change the store i do not care too I am easy to move on BUT I don’t like when you deal with someone like dumb !! Wake up and if you don’t want customers in this branch it is easy just be clear… many are happy to have us
