Dennis's Your Independent Grocer

I like shopping at this location. It’s handy and the parking is usually very good. The staff is nice and the prices are good - they have a great produce selection and things are merchandised nicely. I can almost always find what I need and they have good sales. They also price match to flyers, which is great.

Nothing bad to say about the grocery store. Honestly the only reason it's a 4/5 star is because when I see "Dennis's" on my map it makes me cringe and think it should be Dennis'. Am I wrong? Neither look right but I don't think the apostrophe S is correct. Again, nothing bad about the grocery store.

Out of stock, no milk, no yogurt, produce pricey. Asked meat department where to find the hams that were on sale. Got the sarcastic answer that they were still attached to the pigs. This store is in our neighbourhood was happy to see it open, but I will never go back. Last 3 visits items I was looking for were not there.

Customer Service- At best average. I asked an employee about pricing and her response to me was ‘well that’s how we do business, you don’t have to shop here’ ... a Well here is how it goes teach your staff customer service. I am not coming back to your store and I will make sure I let people know about my terrible experience. Also her reasoning for the same brand of product pricing being different - charging $2 more for muffins because you offer ‘a quiter environment to shop’ is a lame logic. 1- is environment and shopping experience is the reason you charge 2$ more then informs the customers 2- make that experience worth the money you at charging. The girl i dealt with was an untrained employee with poor communication and customer service skills. And her response that it is my opinion that this is not a very smart logic because she failed to convince me that the service was worth the extra charge. FYI I have no problem paying more in sobeys because their service is worth the extra money. So as a service professional and a trainer Dennis here is a suggestion please improve your customer service and focus on informed communication skills. Lastly you lost a customer.

Was unhappy with the selection as well as the layout. Clothes sandwiched between the food aisles...? The cheese cooler was a disaster. Also went to get basic cough and cold medicine (Tylenol cold and sinus) and it was locked up because the pharmacy was closed? Asked the staff member if it was unlockable and she told me she doesn't have keys. No where that ive ever been locks the cold and sinus with no access even through a staff member. This was enough to empty my cart and go to Walmart. Was much happier leaving Walmart than I was here.
