Story

Rashnaa Restaurant has been open since 1990, and we are a small family oriented restaurant. We are located at 307 Wellesley St. E. at the heart of Cabbagetown. Rashnaa is a South Indian and Sri Lankan restaurant, we have a variety of exquisite dishes to offer with a variety of flavouring and spices.

We have daily lunch specials that is available from 11:30-3pm. We also deliver after 5pm everyday.

I went here with a friend who has been going for 20 years and loved it. The food was really good and the staff was super Duper friendly. Definitely not the best Sri Lankan food I’ve had, but it was very solid. Prices are reasonable and the servings or large so you will always have takeout to bring home with you after a meal. It’s worth checking out
The taste doesnt get better than this.. the veg curries part of the thali tasted better than the beef curry I ordered..

The food tends to vary at this restaurant. Sometimes I have had dry spice less food and other times I have had amazing delicious food. I think it depends on who the chef is and the time of day you visit this place. I think it could use a bit of refreshing in the seating area but other than that, the food and service is average.
I previously lived in this area and missed this restaurant immensely. Start with the mixed appetizer platter for an amazing mix of tastes and textures. The papadums are incredibly crispy, the coconut chutney just the right amount of spice and the sweet spicy sauce an entirely different, yet complimentary flavour profile. One combo platter to share between two people was so large, we took much of it home for a midnight snack. Great value... Excellent Sri Lankan food at Rashnaa is a cuisine I crave, and eat here on the rare occasion I find myself in this neighbourhood. Delivery area is large and also highly recommended.
Ordered in through DoorDash. Wasn’t impressed. Delivery was on time. Food was not even warm. Chicken Briyani 2/5, Devils Chicken was sweet- and supposed to be spicy 2/5, string hopper kothu- 2/5, Masala Thosa- 2/5. Samosa- 3/5. Been to many Sri Lankan restaurants and this rates lower on the scale, sadly, because they deliver. Won’t order again.
It was pretty good food. My shrimp dish did have a piece of chicken in it and I don't eat chicken. You also seem to have to flag down the staff. We waited almost 30 min to order and leave and there was only one other table there.
We ordered the Shrimp platter and String Hopper Thali. Both were really good. The Hopper Thali comes with Yogurt. Will definitely place order with them in future. Also wish they had another location in Mississauga. My rating is more of a 4.5/5.
Good food, although not spicy at all. Nice to have a dine-in sri lankan restaurant downtown, but it doesn't seem like they want dine-in guests judging by the service you get. I prefer to dine in whenever possible to minimize the waste plastic, Styrofoam, etc that usually accompanies takeout, thus it was disappointing to feel so unwelcome while eating in the restaurant. I'm very lenient and understanding with service staff, but this experience was hilariously bad so I had to mention it. I'll be heading to Scarborough for sri lankan food next time.
Honestly This restaurant served the worst indian food i've ever tasted and I am indian. It was bland. Everything tasted frozen. Decor needs an upgrade. It was not appetizing and My roomie and I ended up spending 60$ on tasteless food. You're better off going to butter chicken factory because this place actually disappointed us so hard.
