Ramen Taka

Decent spot for Ramen, our server was amazing and super friendly. Enjoyed the service so much than the food! Only reason I’m giving low rating is because the only protein they offer is Pork! No chicken and beef options!

A true 3.5-4 rating. The service was good - quick to attend and deliver. The atmosphere was bright and nicely yet had simple wood interior designs. The ramen ranges from $14-17 with a good amount of options and additional sides you can add on. They also serve beer and other snack dishes like croquettes. The ramen overall was good and hits the spot but is lighter on the content side. It is very well presented nonetheless and offers good flavour. The noodles felt on the softer side than sense if that is your preference . Overall a good spot to drop by for ramen when on 17th.

What a quiet lovely place to have lunch, the broth is perfectly salty, the noodle nicely cooked not overly fishy tasting. The pork is tender and over all the experience is really relaxing and great. Prices are average for this area, I would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet lunch on the belt line.

The spicy tsukemen that I had was decent, I just wish they had choices of meat because I am not really a fan of pork. The other food that I had was the takoyaki and it was actually good! It was crispy on the outside and and it was warm on the inside with decent sized octopus meat. The drink that I had was the Melon Green soda, I liked the taste of it. It could have been better if there was less ice and a less melted vanilla ice cream on top.

Amazing ramen! I like that they are fairly original with their offerings in addition to the normal fair you find at most ramen shops. Very fine attention to detail and prices are reasonable.

A little difficult to notice, but well worth noticing. This little restaurant is the little engine that could. The food is well-priced and delicious. They have more than just photos of the, they have actual realistic models of them! It reminds me of being back in Japan! The staff are pretty quick and efficient. It is too bad that there doesn't seem to be more parking, but such is life in inner-city Calgary. Support this local business!

The restaurant had a spacious interior, but I found the seating to be a bit uncomfortable. The service was friendly, which was a plus. However, when it came to the prices, I did feel that they were a bit high as the quality of the food didn't quite measure up to what I was paying. We ordered some fried chicken as an appetizer to share and unfortunately, it didn't taste good. The flavor was bland and the chicken itself was dry. It did not leave a good impression for us. Moving on to the ramen, I found it to be disappointing as well. The broth lacked depth of flavor and the chashu braised pork was not traditional and lacked flavor. The ingredients didn't stand out in quality, and the portion size was decent but not overly generous. I've had better ramen at other spots in Calgary. All in all, I didn't have a terrible experience at Ramen Taka, but it also wasn't a particularly outstanding one. The restaurant didn't leave a lasting impression on me. I found the prices to be a bit steep for the quality offered, and the overall taste and presentation of the food did not meet my expectations. This is very nice place for ramen among the ramen spots we have tried on Calgary, the food is amazing given Miso based ramen are something we love. The challenge for the Giga ramen bowl sounds fun, we wish we could watch someone do this someday. The staff is very friendly and I bet will help you decide if you are confused with options. Great service. Noodles have a good texture. The broth is on the saltier end but you can ask for less salt. The broth is not very flavourful and the pork slices are a bit thin.

I was recommended by a local friend to try this ramen shop in town. The shop was small but clean and organized. The ramen menu had a great variety and the price was ok. They offered both dine in and take out. We enjoyed our ramen at the restaurant. It was made by order and everything tasted fresh and hot. The broth was just right and not too salty after I selected less salty. The portion was reasonable too. They can get quite busy so the waiting time can be quite long. It is wise to call ahead to check on the status of the waiting time.
