Ramada by Wyndham St. John's

We stayed here for the night because our vehicle broke down the night before. The Front Desk was so accommodating in helping us to get a room as soon as possible. The rooms are very roomy and our room was very clean! I worked Housekeeping management for years and even though the outside looks rough, our room was excellent.nWe brought our dog and they are dog friendly at $25 extra per stay.

I was extremely surprised when I arrived at this location. This was the 3rd hotel I'd booked from the American Express website, so I'd grown accustomed to staying at some truly amazing locations. Aesthetically, this hotel completely missed the mark. From the lobby, to the hallways, and the room, I felt like I had entered a hotel from 1970's Stephen King novel. I will say that the front desk workers were very nice people so it does have that going for it. However, this hotel has no place on the American Express Hotels and Suites site. I would not recommend.

Kind and knowledgeable staff. The interior of the property is very well maintained and clean. A small business centre.nHowever:nThe interior and exterior need a MAJOR update: brighter neutral paint, too many stairs in odd places, a weirdly configured foyer, elevator is not located in the lobby. This site is not mobility friendly.nTo bring our 5 pieces of luggage into the hotel on the trolley, the Receptionist brought us in by the unused restaurant! Totally bizarre.

Overall it's a decent hotel, the rooms and hotel in general are a bit out dated even with the updates imo, but what can you expect as the price per night is on the cheaper side compared to some of the other hotels nearby. The king bed and pillows were super comfy I must say. The washroom in our room was very small however and poorly lit, the toilet is also suspiciously low to the ground lol. All in all you get what you pay for and it was decent. The location is good. The restaurant seems to be permanently closed.

Recommend booking directly with the hotel. Expedia made an error with our reservation. The request for an accessible room was not provided to the hotel despite appearing on our confirmation. Luckily, we could work it with the hotel staff and had a lovely quiet stay
