Quivey's Grove

The atmosphere at the Stable Grill is laid back and relaxing! This is our second time with the first about 1 1/2 years ago. Bar is wonderful and the employees gracious. Unfortunately, this time both my food and my wife’s dinner were lukewarm. The vegetables were barely considered warm when brought to the table. My potato dish was also lukewarm. The meat was warm, cooked perfectly, and tasty, but not fresh off the grill hot. This contrasts with a perfect experience the first visit. I will give it one more try before making a final decision to go there in the future, hoping it was a one time weak experience.

We had our first meal at Quivey's Grove and it was great. I can't say enough about how good the smashed potatoes were. The trout was also phenomenal. The atmosphere was quite charming and the wait staff was also very good. Highly recommend this place.

Best atmosphere in any restaurant in the area. Great bar which makes really delicious cocktails. The food has been a bit mixed. Some things have been outstanding other things just okay. Last time I had a meatloaf sandwich which was just okay. The meatloaf was under seasoned and had good consistency but was paired with a bread that was to firm so when you bit into the sandwich it just fell apart. The most flavorful part of the sandwich was the sauteed onions that came with it. Many other things we've had there have been very good.

Really neat place! We were there for a wedding and it was a great venue. Beautiful flower beds. We were out of town guests so it was very convenient to have the hotel next door. The tunnel was fun too! Drinks were delicious :)

We live out of state and have not been able to get there for a meal in the main stone house, but have really enjoyed the more casual stables for lunch. Their tag line is something like, "other restaurants serve Wisconsin, Quivey's Grove is Wisconsin", is very valid. Everything about the space and menu screams Wisconsin and we live it. Everything we've tried on the menu has been very good and is priced very reasonably. It's become our favorite place when we're back in Madison. Our next trip will be timed and planned so that we can make the stone house for dinner.
