Quality Inn & Suites Yellowknife

The service here is outstanding. I called to inquire about an early check-in, and although a room wasn’t available immediately, they followed up within an hour to let me know one was ready. The hotel’s location is convenient, with plenty of dining options and shops nearby. While there were some people lingering around the hotel, they didn’t disturb me or disrupt my sleep. However, the rooms are in serious need of renovation or a deep cleaning. A strong mildew odor was noticeable throughout, and there was no air conditioning, though opening the window helped with the stagnant air. Unfortunately, there was also no hot water in the morning, which was disappointing. Despite these issues, the exceptional staff really made a difference, which is why I didn’t rate it lower.

We appreciate the support and attention from some of staff. Specially the girl who help us with a payment issue. She was until 11pm on Friday. She had amazing client skills and felt she was very competent and showed care for what our needs were at that time.

Had to stay here because Nova and Explorer were all booked up. This is a sketchy hotel. I checked in after midnight. There is a security guard at the front door and the foyer smells like drugs and booze. When we checked in, the front desk guy did not ask for ID and did not ask/verify the credit card. He was an old guy with trembling hands. Very run down condition in the hallways. I was on the top floor 4th and the room is ok...dated. i didnt find any issues with cleanliness. It was just a bit shabby probably the brown carpet? However, what i really did not like: there is a door that joins to the next door room and it is unlocked on both sides. It just so happens that my colleague was in the adjoining room. Otherwise a stranger could have entered my room through this side door. Or maybe this is the set up they use for human trafficking. Rooms were ok, but plenty of vagrants moving through the hotel and they required security. Many unsavoury experiences with homeless within the foyer and we felt quite unsafe. Locals in hotel were noisy.

Great location to stay, the bed was comfortable, and they have security overnight. Only issue I had was there was not parking on site. I had to make sure to take almost everything as I was far from home. The staff was very nice.
