Quality Inn & Suites Yellowknife

I don't recommend this hotel at all. The heater didn’t work during our entire stay. One day the hot water wasn’t working and we had to shower with freezing water. The brown carpet of the room’s floor felt suspicious, it was the real life version of “floor is lava”. The lobby is always full of homeless people and it feels unsafe. The hallways smell like wet moppet. The pillows are a bag of balls. The carpet of the elevator is always dirty. There is no place to wait/sit in the lobby. The breakfast was ok but there is room for improvement.

A rating of 3 is me being easy on them. There wasn’t hot water to shower with, the tv was broken, the remote didn’t have working batteries. There’s also free breakfast in the morning but some things didn’t look edible and the juices were watered down. The pancake printer intrigued me. There was no room service or restaurant. It was somewhat decent if you just needed a place to sleep at but I would look into Chateau Nova or the Explorer hotel for $20-$50 more per night.nnGiving them an additional star for convenient location and being one of the services hotels when it comes to airport shuttle and tour buses.

Had to stay here because Nova and Explorer were all booked up. This is a sketchy hotel. I checked in after midnight. There is a security guard at the front door and the foyer smells like drugs and booze. When we checked in, the front desk guy did not ask for ID and did not ask/verify the credit card. He was an old guy with trembling hands. Very run down condition in the hallways. I was on the top floor 4th and the room is ok...dated. i didnt find any issues with cleanliness. It was just a bit shabby probably the brown carpet? However, what i really did not like: there is a door that joins to the next door room and it is unlocked on both sides. It just so happens that my colleague was in the adjoining room. Otherwise a stranger could have entered my room through this side door. Or maybe this is the set up they use for human trafficking. The rooms were ok for what you'd expect from a choice brand hotel. The location in downtown is great and within walking distance even in mid winter to grocery stores, shops, and restaurants.

We appreciate the support and attention from some of staff. Specially the girl who help us with a payment issue. She was until 11pm on Friday. She had amazing client skills and felt she was very competent and showed care for what our needs were at that time.
