The papaya salad was perfect, really stood out to me. So fresh and tasty, I would crave it again. The pad Thai was decent but didn’t stand out. The curry was a little awkward to eat, one huge piece of potato and the chicken wasn’t deboned so it kind of took away from the experience. But the thing that made this review 3 stars instead of 4 was the chicken. Although texturally good, and nicely fried, the chicken was not thoroughly washed before cooking. Maybe I have a sensitive nose with this because my boyfriend didn’t notice it much but for me having grown up washing my chicken with vinegar and salt and flour, I couldn’t stand the smell of it. Wash your chicken. Please.
Came here for supper with my family. Luckily there wasn’t a line up we were able to come in. Service was fast and friendly. Love how the menu is so small it was easy to choose I think we ordered most of the menu. Food was out of this world! Price was fair, loved the ambiance. A lot of take out orders!
Pumpui surprise me with real Thai basil and closest Thai food taste in Montreal. I was told about this restaurant by one of bartender who works in another place. This restaurant is in little Italy area, more of local people. It is very small place and small menu, but the taste can impress me. - Pad Kaprao: must try! with Thai basil leaves and if you ask them to make Thai spicy, this dish can make you cry. - Pad Thai with shrimp: why not? I have been eaten Pad Thai in so many restaurants outside and inside Thailand. I can say it is not bad at all. - Pad Pakboong: sautéed Morning glory with soybean paste. Somehow I feel a bit weird of the taste of this dish. I don't know what sauce brand they use but not the same as Thai soybean paste taste. Service is super casual and easy, has signature Thai style condiment, plate and dishes are Thai local design. So, if you really want to eat Thai food in Montreal that taste close to the way Thai people cook in Thailand, Pumpui is the choice for you. Vegetarian options: Just ask them, they are willing to make a special order for you.
This place is very unassuming and simple but the food is incredible! The atmosphere is laid back and unpretentious. I’ve been to dine in and take out and both experiences were positive. The Pad Thai and Pad Kaprao and phenomenal, probably the closest you’ll get to actual Thai food in Montreal! It’s one of our go-to places and never let’s us down - definitely worth checking out!
A modest, low-key restaurant with big flavourful dishes, complex recipes and very filling portions are perfect for a quick bite or delicious sit-down supper. A simple and direct yet varied menu makes it easy to chose a meal for any mood.Food: 5/5
Came in on a rainy day and was seated immediately lucky, party of 2. Got the green curry and shrimp pad thai. Food came quickly, it was delicious. Spicy, sweet, hit the spot. Would come back. Consider coming on a sunny day or be prepared to grab take out, small space.
Their food is surprisingly good. For some reason I felt nostalgic when i was eating there. Perhaps its food and the utensils combined. Sure they dont have soft drinks but I guess this is the way they want to be unique. Will try more in the future.Food: 5/5
I went there last week for lunch and their curries are amazingly tasty. I really liked the green curry and I already look forward to going back to try everything else on the menu! I believe they have a regular menu and a seasonal one. The decoration inside the store is also very pretty and hip. You cannot dine-in because of COVID-19, but they installed 3 picnic tables and other amenities in their backyard. I totally recommend!
Very fun fast paste but friendly atmosphere. Will go back and try out their Curry's as the aroma was intoxicating. I am a very picky curry eater
Its been 8 years im in mtl and believe me this restaurant is authentic and tasty. I tried some thai restaurants like pamika, maesri, phuket, thamada... they are ok but not really have the true thai spirit. The green curry zinggg me from the first spoon! and mango sticky rice could be better with coconutmilk. And keep in mind the food is spicy. The service is perfect. The decor is authentic have some nostalgic energy. The room is packed and its tuesday
