Story

For over 25 years The Public Landing Restaurant has become a Chicagoland dining destination. Located on the old I&M Canal in the historic district of downtown Lockport, our family of service professionals bring their combined knowledge, talent and hearts to ensure a memorable dining experience for each and every guest.

We had my brother's engagement party here. It was great. The food was really good, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. The doorman was a welcome sight! It was a horribly snowy and cold night but it was cozy inside. I also had lunch with my dear friend and his mom for their birthdays last week. We all had the chicken schnitzel. Yummy! Our server even tolerated my friend when he razzed him a few times. Fantastic. Visit this little gem if you can.

Rustic atmosphere and great food. We took a stroll through the little I & M canal museum, which is in the same building, before settling down for our meal. The lobster bisque was excellent as was our meal of crab stuffed whitefish. The portions are large including the delicious desserts. The only con would be that the tables seemed a little close in some areas. We took a walk out to the bridge afterwards to enjoy the snowy outdoors. We will definitely be back.

Comfortable dining in an historic building. Great food and fabulous drinks. The wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Be sure to take in the history of the building and the area in general. It's always a treat to visit this establishment.

Very good service and atmosphere! The food is excellent! I've been coming here for years and never had a bad experience. Their burgers and steaks are my favorite.

i love the public landing . Its a upscale restaurant in the heart of Lockport. It's a fave of mine & my husbands. The location is really nice too. The lincoln landing where it is located was all redone and looks so beautiful. they also have outside dining.
