Does not advertise it's a Mexican restaurant. Loud Spanish radio station on. Good service. Not very good waffles.

My wife and I are regular's here. I want to start out by saying we've been reasonably happy with this place. In general, the food is good but the service is inconsistent at best. The best part though is that there is rarely a wait to be seated. Our visit tonight now leaves me with mixed feelings on whether we will return or not. I love the salsa at LA Café and usually put it on my food as opposed to using hot sauce. Our waitress brought us the usual basket of chips with salsa which we ate while waiting for our food. When the food comes, I usually have to ask for more salsa to use on my dinner. Tonight, our waitress said that after the first, there is an extra charge for the second. While quite surprised, I said "OK, I still want it". Unfortunately, I never did receive the salsa that I asked for and can't say I enjoyed my meal. The waitress never returned until I was just about finished with my meal so there was no point in asking for it then. We have never been charged in the past for salsa at this or any other Mexican restaurant. Being charged for salsa at a Mexican restaurant is like being charged for ketchup at a burger and fry place. If we can plan around the busy times, we'll take our business to El Cortez and Mama Maria's where good customer service is well understood.

Top notch dinning experience, Great portions of food and fairly priced .Quality is also very high

OMG this place is a good value. It's not 5 star dining but when they have a $3.99 menu with selections you actually want you can't really argue.

The food is maybe 3 stars. There are good flavors, but not the best quality. The prices are low. I have been going here for years, but the last time the radio was not tuned well. I got to listen to blaring static my entire meal. The waitress said she told whoever about it, but "whoever" did nothing.
