Provincial Offences Office, Ontario Court of Justice - Newmarket Court (4960)

Was never notified by this court that I had a hearing for a ticket. Checked and followed up myself and drove 3 hours at 5am to be here, took a day off of work, paying gas for 6 hours of driving, just to be told that the ticket was withdrawn and they “were just hoping people would call to follow up” to be notified of this - “didn’t bother sending out any mails or anything” because there were thousands of them. I told them I called and checked my status online just yesterday and there were no updates whatsoever. Do your jobs or just quit - don’t waste people’s time and money.

Booked 4 afternoons off work to address a traffic ticket. Each time we were met with obstacles. Either our appointment was cancelled in advance and or we waited hours in a virtual waiting room and the Justice of the Peace never showed up. There was no explanation or level of customer service given to relay wait times or that the Justice of Peace wasn't available.

This office is completely inept. I have been dealing with York Region Court Services since October 2018 and have made every attempt to deal with this issue according to the rules set by the province. The prosecutor’s office, failed to provide me with the necessary information to resolve the matter: -the prosecutor’s office did not know whether my case was settled or still in appeal - they sent me to a court appearance that was cancelled and not located at the address they provided - an agreement signed in November 2019 was only signed by a judge in October 2020; and I only received the signed order in December 2020 after following up - when I could not find a way to pay the fine and contacted the collections department, they would not address my concerns and ignored my emails - as a consequence, the Ministry then suspended my licence without so much as a degree of research into the situation Attempting to settle a traffic ticket should not be this complex. York Region Court Services’ actions, inactions, misinformation and general indifference to my case have had serious adverse consequences to my mental, emotional and economic well-being. Where is the public accountability?

If you are looking to fight off a ticket, DO NOT BOTHER. It is what it is, the rubbish system is just trying to rip you off. They provide absolutely no help. All they do is throw a stack of paper at you and “Here you go, fill it out.” You end up coming here to waste your time, your gas money, and pay more money. That’s just what they do.

Might be a surprise!!!! I have had my wedding pictures taken here winter of 2012 February This building doesn't get enough credit. I don't remember who had recommended it to me, but it worked. And we are happy! I didn't realize it was a provincial courthouse building at the time. I was in need of an indoor picture taking place. It worked, and it worked perfectly. Lots of picture worthy spots. Rails, lights, marble, steps, plants. Are photographers made it look like a picture perfect moment. Not sure if they are still offering the property on weekends. It was only a small deposit. We also had a few photos on the outside with all the white, really nice. As soon as I get a chance we can definitely post some pictures

Don’t do anything to get yourself to come here. EXTREMELY inefficient and uninformed staff, acting like they’re doing you a favour as long they’re breathing. Same thing over the phone. Ill-advised, and uncourteous, the staff managed to waste my time, energy, gas, and parking fees to get a simple answer not the one I was looking for, one that I could’ve received over the phone, which would’ve saved me a whole lot of hassle. Why even show up to work if you’re not going to do your job properly? Best part is, there is no recompense for the waste...absolute worst government related experience. These would actually show up to work if their salaries were taken away and put on commission...EARN your pay please, these are valuable tax dollars being wasted on employees who could be replaced by mannequins.

I got ticket to fight in 2020 January now its 2022 January. I got no mails in these years no trace nothing I don’t even knw if i have hearing or anything i am wasting my money on lawer but since there is no update or I can’t even trace online I don’t even knw what to do absolutely trash system .

The Provincial Offences Office, Ontario Court of Justice Ont Sup Ct Newmarket Court 4960 is the most comfortable and quiet government office I have ever experienced. The clerks are professional and brisk in their approach to resolving your issues. Their office is located on the 2nd floor and very clean. The wait for your number to be called is ~15 minutes in the early afternoons. There are no crowds and plenty of parking $3 available. Of course it is never a pleasant experience to deal with a fine but this is as good as it gets.

So you getting 100% rubbish ticket and you have right for fight. Then you come here and see if you can fight. The system here is designed to refrain people from fighting. Be aware, you have to spend minimum a half day it is a business day. I don't have that much of time. I could say "I feel guilty" and get some discount & pay less fine, but I don't feel so, because I am not. Paid full amount and left knowing that this system is ripping me off. A BIG SHAME...
