Providence Sacred Heart Children's Hospital - Spokane

Was there last week in the evening of 01/16/2026 and I wanted to recognize how hard working your pediatric ED nurses are. They were triaging and caring for the kiddos in such a busy waiting room and it all seemed very genuine and caring. Thank you for being such amazing nurses.

As someone who hates hospitals, I was VERY impressed with this one. We had to take our 4 month old into the ER, and for a 1-night stay on New Year’s Eve. The intake staff, ER staff, nurses, pediatricians, CT staff, transportation staff, MRI staff, and eye specialists were all efficient & communicative & very kind to us. Thank you for making a very scary time as pleasant as it could be! One suggestion: improve the couch/ bed for the parents to sleep on… a hard twin bed for 2 stressed out adults makes the night even harder.. I know it’s not a hotel

Some Staff dont wear masks and dont wash their hands coming in or out. They sneezed in the back of their hand and then proceeded to touch my child. This hospital’s infections control is a joke. One of the nurse said, this is the only children emergency hospital so, literally, we have no where else but here. Plus, they’re NOT well trained in splinting after a bone reduction, so take your children to Shriner asap afterward. My friend took her child her last time and they forgot her son in the room for 6 hrs waiting for test result that they said will only take 30mins. He was very sick. This used to be a good hospital but not anymore.

Dr Thorne at Spokane Sacred Heart Children's Hospital saved my son's life. We had gone to our local hospital 4 times and were sent home each time stating no concern found. We were then turned to Spokane, and they almost immediately found the issue. Dr Thorne performed the necessary corrective surgery and my child is doing so much better. All staff I encountered were helpful and made being so far from home much easier. Thank you to everyone that worked with us, and a special thank you to Dr Thorne.

This hospital used to be great but ever since 2025 hit this hospital is horrible! My daughter is an extremely complex baby, and she never gets admitted when she should be admitted to the PICU when she is sick/ill. We went to the children’s ER yesterday September 20 and they told us that she had Covid and pneumonia and they sent her home when they should’ve kept her because she has a trach and vent depended baby. But instead, they shoved us away and gave her a measly little medication. Obviously, she is still sick and we just found out two days later that she has four severe trach infection infections along with Covid and pneumonia. my daughter is not like every other child out there who gets sick. My daughter has had a trach event, a V patient, and a feeding tube her whole life. She is extremely fragile, and that is just wrong of a Children’s Hospital that everyone speaks so highly of to send her home, I thought I could trust them. I thought they would do the right thing, but obviously they don’t care.
