Terrible @answering phones! Terrible. An easy 40min wait just to get someone to pickup and then be prepared to be placed hold so they can "check".. Appointment availability? Not gonna happen! You need to "plan" your sickness 4-5 weeks out...
I’m never one to complain ever or leave bad reviews and I’ve been seen here for years and have been taking my kids here too until that one sweet day. My 8th child of 9 was seen here for a check up with a doctor that I was seeing throughout my pregnancies with her. I want to just say that in my past, I have made a lot of wrong decisions and well, I was honest and straightforward with my doctors with what’s happened to me and with what I went through. I made a complete 360 on my life and am proud to say that I have accomplished so much and am redeemed and recovered! I shared all of this information, entrusting it to my team and what do I get? I miss one appointment for my daughter due to a family emergency and my doctor, at the time, had the nerve to report me to Office of Children and Family Services! Never have I ever felt so judged and misunderstood in my life! I tried to call for appointments to see this specific doctor again to confront her about this but, I was asked to be seen by another every time. I will never be going here ever again and have made sure that my extended families here in Anchorage don’t either. Sorry, but not sorry. The staff were always just amazing to my family and I throughout the years until that one bad apple ruined it for us all.
Long wait time on the phones, but you can practically contact any one of your doctors and set up appointments through their website, MyChart. Started going here a year ago when I was pregnant up to now for baby checkups. I always feel welcomed and comfortable. The staff are really nice and helpful!
I will never take my child infant here again. For a lot of reasons. 1 her pediatrician was assigned at providence when I gave birth he was awesome and super nice but was never there when she needed an appt. 2 the nurses gave my baby her shots all separate instead of 2 nurses come in to give them at once. 3 my child had pneumonia I didn't know it was at the time she sounded horrible and they did NOTHING for her. The next day I took her into the ER and they couldn't believe she sounded the way she did and they did nothing they could tell it was pneumonia before the xray proved it! I take her somewhere else now and we just had her well baby and it was SO much better care there! I hate complaining but my baby was very sick and could have gotten a lot worse.
I had my pharmacy request refill from PFMC as per the clinic's policy. The clinic's wait time for refill is a reasonable 3 business days. It has now been 8 business days and no meds. My refill includes blood pressure medication which should never be suddenly and completely stopped! This is putting my health and perhaps my life in grave danger. I have been going to PFMC for more than 2 decades so I have seen the good and the bad sides of the clinic but I have never witnessed this degree of ineptness before. This is the third time in the past 2 years that I have not received med refills in a timely manner! Trying to contact them by phone is an exercise in futility as the last time I attempted this I hung up after 2 hours of waiting. The clinic"s app 'My Chart' is once again not allowing me to schedule a time to see my doctor. I would usually try to email the doc through My Chart but the last time I did that it took her 3 months to respond. The CMAs read the emails prior to sending them on to the doctor. I am now trying to outline a formal complaint that I will submit to the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Health Care. This is difficult because my refill also contained medication vital to my mental health. I hope that by filing this complaint PFMC will be persuaded to correct the very serious problems they have concerning timely refills and other problems that are affecting their ability to be a viable clinic.
For the pass 4yrs going to this clinic I've been having problems with the doctors asking dumb questions. Try refer me or try to think that they were always right for ever Dame thing.
This is the place where you can only make an appointment online or by having to physically drive to the clinic. I have been on hold for 45 minutes at a time and finally just gave up. I've been hung up on as well by someone who works there not wanting to answer the calls. I am a teacher and don't get off until after 4 most days and the online scheduling doesn't have any appointments for after 4 pm. Very unprofessional business. I give a 2 for this as this is the most frustrating experience is not being able to get a hold of your doctors office.
As far as the Doctor goes Most of them are ok and helpful But the waiting time is just bad I normally wait in the lobby for 30min to an 1hrs of wasting my time. The nurses here think this is a free clinic or something This place is a joke I only come here because I have a lot of free time n nothing better to do besides the nurses here are very helpfulnever
Currently been on hold for the past 32 minutes, which is totally normal for this place. I love my doc, she does listen and tries to find solutions, but the overall extreme length of time waiting to speak with someone, the inflexibility with scheduling and then seeing just the same copy/paste responses on here, I cant give any higher then a 2*. Hopefully I get a different response then the 5 people below me, but I doubt it.
Administrative staff seem consistently overworked and harried. At time of review, online app recommended for appointments doesn't work. Scheduling is a little funky Can't schedule more than two weeks out unless you're seeing your primary doctor, but doctors are often doing residencies and change over. There isn't a cancellation list, but you can call in at 8 AM day of to check for cancellations. Over the last several years I've gone there, the experience largely is shaped by the doctor seeing you. I've had some great ones who've since moved on, and some of the worst experiences of my life. If you have a flexible schedule and don't mind doctor changes, it's perfectly adequate, and can even be good once you get checked in.
