If you are passing through this is a must-see stop. If you live close enough to visit often, do it! In every season this is a beautiful wildlife refuge. It is a photographer's dream from the beautiful backdrop of mountains to the open plains, nesting areas, the waterfall and especially abundant wildlife and birds.

Cool place. Wide oven spaces and easy to spot the wildlife. We walked the trail up to the waterfall..beautiful!

A beautiful NWR situated along the Kootenai River between the Selkirk Range and the Purcell Mountains. Wonderful waterfowl viewing surrounded by wonderful diverse agriculture and situated in the geologically significant Purcell Trench.
