Prairie Schooner Steak House

Loved this place the atmosphere is terrific and calm and the food is amazing! you have choices as to how bright you want the lights in your wagon so freaking cool! Also there is a fireplace and a desert scene recreated in the middle of the restaurant which gives the whole place a "night in the old mid west" type feeling. Super cool! Service was fast and friendly! They have amazing homemade fresh bread and wonderfully flavored steaks and fish! Highly recommended if your a steak or fish person! Their soup is also very full or flavor! Highly recommended even though its higher priced place! Probably a little more birthday and anniversary friendly than a everyday type restaurant but that's what makes the experience special!

I ordered the New York strip and got potatoes au gratin. I had a bite of the steak and it was very bland. I know I could make a better steak at home. I lost my appetite and did not touch my potatoes. I told our waitress about the food and the manager showed up later. She apologized about the steak and then offered a slice of cheesecake to smooth things over. I was not happy about how that was handled. Later when I was home and figured I would dig in to the potatoes I found half of them to be undercooked. I was very disappointed in their food. They didn't even offer to make things right. I do not recall the night we went or the server I can look at our card transactions to see about pinpointing a day. However there was a female manager on duty that normally does not work there and was helping out.

Outstanding service and the food was amazing. I have a Carmel addiction and our server picked up on it and drizzled hot caramel and cream over our desert and ice cream. We will return on another special occasion and hope we get her again!! 💞💝🎊

The food was excellent, our server was friendly and checked on us frequently, and was very knowledgeable. Dining in our own covered wagon was cozy and very private. I can't wait to go back.

(If 5 stars was dinner on the prairie.) Truly a unique and worthwhile dining atmosphere. The one-of-a-kind atmosphere dwarfs that of would-be cowboy eateries. The food was good. Certainly a little expensive, but when you eat in a covered wagon, beneath the stars, by a goat skull, it tastes amazing. Plus! The service staff are the friendliest and downright day-brightening. Highly recommend it.
