I have been to this salon twice after being recommended by a good friend of mine who usually goes to the same stylist regularly. Both times I had completely opposite experiences. I don’t get my hair done very often and when I do, I usually let the stylist do what they want - within agreed guidelines. The first time I went, Carly was my stylist. She was super confident and totally got what I wanted with my hair. She explained every detail about what she wanted to do and continued to do so throughout the process. This helped me trust her and I felt from the get go that I was in good hands. As it was my first time at the salon we also discussed pricing and she gave me a total cost before we even began. I loved the result and was super happy with the overall experience that I couldn’t wait to go back in a few months for the same thing. The second time I went I had a different stylist as Carly was unavailable. Again, she was a lovely girl however, immediately I didn’t feel the same sense of confidence or communication etc that I did the first time. My file was on record from the first time I was there and I asked if I could just do the same thing again. She looked at my hair and commented on how Carly had done a great job and that “she didn’t know how she did that”. In the end my hair looked no different... The stylist even commented on ‘how subtle’ the transformation was. Considering I get my hair done twice a year, the result I’m going for is usually not so subtle. She quickly blow dried my hair but didn’t style it with products or tools in anyway. As I have naturally curly hair it was frizzy and unkept looking as I left the salon. This time it was even more expensive than the first time. I’m not sure why?? I was never consulted it would cost more either and when I asked for the same as what I had done the first time I assumed it would cost the same. Overall I think this salon is not consistent. I loved my results the first time I went and spoke highly about the service I received but unfortunately, I was let down by the result the second time.

I absolutely love the experience that I received from the senior stylist named Ashley. I got highlights and a haircut. She took time to listen to what I was thinking and was also able with her professionalism and sense of style to make suggestions upon my personal style and what’s in “trend”. My consultation never felt rushed and we were totally on the same page when she started my colour. She took in consideration the fact that I have fine hair and used the proper dye to keep the integrity of my hair. When you sit in her chair she really takes care of you. She Always replenished my drinks and make sure that i was confortable. I highly recommend her and will for sure be back for my touch up and trim. Thanks to Ashley and the Poppy team for making my appointment a great experience.

I am a good client of Ashley, I have followed up from Aveda to Poppy Hair Salon. Not only is Ashley great but the salon is as well. The staff, especially the wonderful male receptionist there is very professional, friendly and helpful. I like the "vibe" the salon has; compared to many others, it feels cozy and mostly, the staff looks happy. I have never kept a hair color as long as the one Ashley did for me. She has been my stylist for many years; has cut my long long hair to a beautiful short bob. I trusted her and we played with that hairstyle for a while. She always listens, gives the best advise and mostly is open to feedback when there is something! I have recommended Ashley to friends as well and they continue to see her on a regular basis! M-

I’ve been going to Poppy for the past few years and I always see Ashley. She is an amazing stylist who always works hard to make sure that I receive the style and colour I ask for. I couldn’t ask for a better experience than what I receive with Ashley. I constantly recommend her to my friends and family, and everyone always compliments my colour and cut. The rest of the staff are always so welcoming and friendly, I really enjoy making a day of it and getting my hair done here.

I have never left a review on anything before but absolutely had to after my sisters experience here. I paid for her to have her hair done here thinking it would be a nice treat for her and it was a complete disaster! Her stylist was called Ashley and my sister said that she was friendly but I think she must have done her hair with her eyes closed! The colour is so patchy and not at all blended. The cut is completely uneven too. One side is about an inch longer than the other. It looks like it could have been cut with a fork and knife! I feel so guilty that I sent her there! Ashley also got bleach all over the back of my sisters shirt completely ruining it and didn't even tell her. We find it hard to believe Ashley didn't notice that happening at the time. I have heard from others that Carly is an excellent stylist and the best one at Poppy so I'm sure it is possible to have a great experience at Poppy but I would definitely not recommend Ashley.
