I have had my hair cut by Melissa twice now and I am very pleased with the results! She does a thorough job, is extremely polite and always makes sure that my wishes are met while also giving great recommendations! Extremely satisfied with my hair! The rest of the staff and the lady at the front desk are all very nice, and the place is spotless. I have seen Simon for styling and a haircut a few times and on both occasions, he did a beautiful job styling my hair. He made my hair look so smooth and shiny and it was a beautiful cut. Also, he is so knowledgeable about which products suit me best and was so informative. He is very passionate about what he does. As well, he made the whole experience like a spa and I was so relaxed. I came in for my first professional haircut in almost 3 years as a treat for myself I usually cut my own hair. Big mistake. My gorgeous natural long locks which require very little maintenance have been ruined. My hair can no longer be styled the way I have been styling it every day for the last 5 years. It looks awful in a pony tail, half up, down parted in the center and I can no longer part my hair to the side. These choppy blunt layers were exactly what I told the stylist I didn't want. I came back the following morning in tears to see a master stylist to "fix" the problem. He tried his best but my hair is ruined until it grows back. Not only that but I had to purchase a new curling iron to accommodate the extremely short and thick front pieces and hairspray. I never use product in my hair and have used the same wand for over five years. My hair normally takes 7 minutes to curl and lasts two days at least before I have to restyle. This cut has increased my styling time to over 30 minutes and it doesn't even hold for half the day. Never again. Devastated.
I was a client for years before moving to another province. Dealt with many stylists and never had a bad haircut. I recently returned to Vancouver for a short visit and took the opportunity to get an upgrade on a shapeless grow-out. Jack was able to accommodate me at short notice and did a fabulous cut.
Had the worst experience: my appointment got cancelled last minute, when I asked them to rebook they couldn’t even pick up the phone and communicate my booking, then I got quoted for the wrong service. After chasing them to rebook, I got set up for the wrong time space - even though I sent them a photo of what I was looking to do. It took them 3 tries and two visits to get my hair close to the desired results, but still did not get the desired results. I had to direct JT on where to put the highlights and how to style my curly hair, basically moderated the entire thing on the third try to make sure I walked out of the salon with semi-decent results. I paid almost $500 to sit in a chair for countless hours on several tries and still not get the desired results. If you’re looking to get highlights on curly hair I would HIGHLY recommend you book elsewhere.
I left this place crying!! I made an appointment for 2 pm requesting full highlights and a trim and didn't get out of there until past 8 pm with my hair still wet and not even trimmed. I felt trapped because you can't just leave a salon when there are foils in your hair, so I was forced to wait. I had to tell him to stop halfway through a root procedure and to do just the top of my head because it was now 7 pm & he was doing the most tiny sections of hair at a time. At around 7:45 pm, all the other stylists were leaving to go home, and I was still sitting there getting shampooed. He sat me back down in the chair & I couldn't take it any longer, so I paid and left the salon with still wet & untrimmed hair. Looking back at it, there is no way I should have paid what I did for spending more than 6 hours at a salon leaving with unfinished hair and a considerable amount of stress. I missed a dinner reservation for 6 pm that was rescheduled to 7 pm to accomodate me - to celebrate my niece's birthday. The family was visiting from out of town, and my partner was waiting for me, but because of the ridiculous amount of time it took, I had to miss everything and eat dinner alone at around 9pm. From my past experiences at salons, when I get a balayage or highlights, the appointment usually takes 3.5 hours - not 6-7 hours!! For context, I have thick dark brown hair less than an inch past my shoulders and already had highlights that I just wanted touched up.Service: Hair coloring
I recently got my hair cut by Juby. He gave me exactly what I asked for, and he also provided me with several effortless tips on how to keep my hair silky and smooth. My hair looks and feels so healthy, can't wait to come back for another hair appointment!
Update: Just got the BEST cut from Taylor on my second visit to Civello. He is a very skilled stylist and lovely to chat with too. I have challenging curls and waves and he did a masterful job. Thank you, Taylor! Super happy with the cut I got from Juby. I have curly hair and got a lovely layered bob. Will def be going back. Highly recommend Juby and his excellent skills. On two occasions I was booked in and left with hair that was not what I asked for- one of which was before my wedding day leaving me with noticeable hints of my roots in all photos and the natural colour not pulled down like I asked. She did not listen to what I said. I was then passed on to one of the assistants who washed my hair three times in a row and finished my blowout. She only came back as I was getting ready to pay which made me feel pressured to tip although disappointed. I’ve had others achieve what I’ve asked for before but now twice have been incredibly disappointed especially since this was for my wedding and over $200 was spent. The toner wasn’t even left to set, which evidently resulted in my hair looking dull very fast. Disappointed.
I badly needed a haircut and booked an appointment with Simon. He was super nice, gentle and handled my hair with care. He took his time and made sure that everything he did met my standards! I definitely recommend him and will be going back!
