I love pioneer park! It is next to the Deschutes River which is great to swim in during the summer, but it’s pretty during the winter as well. It’s in a nice quiet spot while also being convenient to get to. Great for picnicking or for taking small kids, the public bathroom is pretty good.
Beautiful small green park and well maintained! There is a small playground and picnic area with picnic tables. There are a lot of trash cans around and a clean bathroom. This is an excellent place for sports practices, and there are always teams there playing soccer.
Nice place to launch a inner tube to float the Deschutes River. There's a big soccer field to run around and a play area for the kids. Not a lot of shade on this hot day. Lots if wild flowers too.Playground: YesPublic restrooms: YesOff-leash dog area: NoPicnic tables: Yes
A sprawling wooded area with many interweaving walking paths also fun for bike riding with Dirt, Stoney, and Paved along some paths. Many fantastic spots by the river that's goes through it. A large Field area, a Playground, and... a baseball diamond or 2 i believe. One of my favorite parks to visit for walks. Always a joy to find cool mushrooms, flora, and the occasional rock art.
This is one of my favorite places to go. There are many beaches to walk to and more you can float to. This is a great place to start a float down to Brewery park formerly known as Tumwater Falls park and exit. The water is super clean and refreshingly cool. Pets are allowed on leashes and it's kid friendly.
What I love the most: SO close to home. 15-min drive to well-maintained non-asphalt trails through wood and along the Deschutes river. What I don't love: In spite of signs stating dogs must be leashed, you'll need to watch for untethered canine friends running ahead of away from their human friends. I *did* hear the humans calling out to their critters, but really, that doesn't compare to an actual, engaged leash. Loose dogs aside, this looks like a great place to drift the river. Another really beautiful job by Parks people! Btw -- there's also a huge sports field complex and a kids' playground, on the other side of the plentiful parking lot.
Good times on the river. Lots of tubers go on super hot days. Wonderful staff, they keep this place amazing. Thank you!!!
We love it here. Lots of places near the water to sit or lay down. It's a short walk from parking lot. Great way to cool down during the summer. The park is clean and many parking spots available.
We like to tube the river here starting at the east end of the park under the bridge short walk from east end of parking lot and float for about 30-40min to the west end of park. It's not a very long float so food and drink are not necessary. The river can be 6ft+ deep at certain points depending on water level, so you should have basic swim capabilities. Don't wear flip flops. They can easily fall off and get caught in the trees and shrubs on the banks. The shape of the river changes from year to year, sometimes for the worse and steering you more often into low hanging branches and dead points of no flow. There's little shade along the river so some may need to cover up or go earlier in the day you know who you are. Wear mineral sunblock since the chemical-based ones are harmful for aquatic life. Overall, it's a fun river and I am always surprised how clean it stays despite how many tubers frequent it. Thanks y'all!
We have played sports at these fields for years, but my favorite spots are the trails to the river. We like to visit during rainy season for some awesome puddle jumping, best around in my opinion!
