I recently took my cat to get her nails trimmed at the Calgary Trail Pet Smart location. I made sure to call ahead of time to make sure a walk in was alright. The girl on the phone reassured me that my cat could come and get a nail trim no problem. I arrived with my cat and the ladies made a file for her and I had all the correct paper work with her vaccines. After that was done, they took her out of the kennel and put her on the metal table and attempted to put the leash on her. As any cat would, she started getting very scared and clung to the ladies shoulder and squirmed, she was not happy at all. What cat would be happy? A stranger is picking her up and putting her on a cold metal table and there are dogs in the back barking. Immediately after her natural reaction, the girl put her back in her kennel and proceeded to tell me that I would be better off taking her to a place that focuses more on cats and that their "primary focus is dogs". I felt so rejected and unwanted and they did not even try to cut my cats nails. What is the point of advertising cat grooming if they aren't going to have empathy or knowledge or execute proper care for the feline clients? I am unable to clip her nails myself and I would prefer a professional do it to ensure it is done properly and safely. I am also a student and was trying to save some money by going to Pet Smart to get her nails trimmed rather than getting someone to come to my house or to go to a vet. It was a complete waste of time and I was absolutely appalled and insulted with how my pet and I were treated. While I go to Pet Smart to buy my cats food, that is the last time I even ever consider using their grooming services again.

Petsmart is a pet friendly pet supply destination. The staff engages the pet as well as the owners, they are very helpful and the specials they offer make it easier for the pet owner to provide good quality food and supplies at a very reasonable price. They have a great return customer program assisting with providing a good value for your dollar. They carry numerous lines to provide for the many different pet needs.

This place is pretty cool. Its nice that customer can interact with animals.. Great way to introduce pets to kids.. You'll be surprise!!!

What can. Say - it is a pet store. Lots of supplies for fish, cats and dogs. They also have reptiles as well. Only thing missing when I was there were puppies. Clean, well lit and didn’t smell too badly.

Watched a staff member tell someone that betta fish are very happy in tiny little bowls when they require at least 5 gallons. Should look into more training before saying that. I cant imagine what they say about larger animals..
