Everything about this store reads like discount grocery, except the prices. Shopping here feels very much like I’m handing my money over to a corporation that cares more about profits than people. No shade on the staff - they are friendly, helpful, and working hard.
Good selection, higher prices, but still lower compared to loblaws. However, extremely poor cashier management- I spent more time in line than shopping. Had two Cash open, with 7+ people in each. Won't allow the carts inside the self serve that was also empty. Same experience 2x back to back. I will no longer prioritize this place.
There are good things about this location. It is large for a NoFrills in the downtown area. It is fairly clean. The employees are helpful and friendly. I can't say the same for their management. I have seen several instances of them not honouring the scanning code of conduct. I was most unhappy about my last and I do mean last purchase from them - some milk that had been reduced in price because it was going to expire in four days. Except that when I opened it at home the smell told me that it had already expired. That is not a big deal. It happens. What I was not expecting was that when I brought it back to the store, still a few days before the expiry date, they said the sale was final and would not offer a refund or exchange. Nothing on the reduced price tag said the sale was final. I was told that this information was available on their website or on the fine print on their flyers.nSo basically rather than take a loss on milk that no one will buy because it is too close to the expiry date, they slap a reduced price sticker on it. You get to play a lottery you were not aware that you were entered in to. I would suggest that any potential customers make sure to read all the terms and conditions on the flyers and website before you shop there. Who knows what other made up rules they have created to part you from your money with no recourse?nI used to shop there several times a week. Now I will have to go a little out of my way so that I never buy anything from that location again.
We’ve had two different times in the past three months where meat we bought was spoiled. The first was three individually packaged steaks, and the second was a 4-pack of chicken breasts. Both times, we opened the meat the same day we bought it and it was still before the best-before date, but it was clearly off.nWith how expensive groceries are right now, that’s really frustrating. You’re paying a lot and expecting basic quality and safety.nWhat’s even more annoying is the process on the PC app. If you try to report it or get reimbursed with points, they tell you to follow the return policy—which means bringing the spoiled meat back to the store. That’s just not realistic. No one is keeping stinky meat in their fridge or taking it back to the store like that.nOn top of that, the app didn’t even get back to me right away. So what, I’m supposed to just hang onto spoiled meat while I wait in case someone asks for proof?nnOverall, pretty gross and says a lot about their food safety and customer service.
The customer service dude is an absolute baddie! Super nice and helpful with my exchange. One of the other workers helped me find the thing to exchange as I didn't know where it was, also nice and helpful. Would recommend just for the hot dude.
