Pearl Day Spa

From the moment I arrived it was peace and relaxation. Sipped a cup of tea before my massage. Barb was easy to talk to and adjusted treatment as I requested. She explained as she went what she was doing and why. Put me completely at ease. After my massage I sat in the "fireside" room and just let it all ease out. Was nice to not have to rush anywhere.

I have been going to the spa regularly for the last year and, initially, was very impressed. Lately, there seems to be some changes and not for the best. Firstly, there seems to be an exodus of highly trained therapists leaving and the quality of some of the newer therapists has been sub par. For example, during a recent visit I was assigned a therapist (name begins with J) who simply rubbed my body, barely applied pressure, and didn't manipulate any muscle areas to relieve tension, etc. He seemed like a complete novice. Plus, he left my body slick with massage oil. I had to take the time to wipe myself off so that I wouldn't slip on the floor or have my skin stick to my clothes. Secondly, the front desk help can be a little more gracious rather than acting like we're doing them a favor by being there. They also had no knowledge of how many therapists worked there or even a list of accredited therapists, which I had asked for. Thirdly, if the owner is trying to cut corners, it shows. Get back to basics, instead of the bottom line.

Pearl Day Spa is my favorite spot for healing and relaxing treatments. It is my first stop for treatment of minor movement injuries from dance, yoga or running. I love the relaxed, yet lovely, atmosphere.

I love the atmosphere here, plus all the staff is so positive and upbeat. I've had both a supremely relaxing facial, and a delightful pedicure that stayed nice-looking longer than usual. I'll be back for sure!

Josh was very warm, friendly and professional during my appointment. He did a wonderful job. I left very relaxed and satisfied.
