Peace Arch Provincial Park is a picturesque cross-border haven that seamlessly blends natural beauty with historical significance. With its iconic white arch and manicured gardens, it symbolizes the peaceful relationship between Canada and the United States. Whether you're strolling through the park, enjoying a picnic, or simply taking in the international vibe, Peace Arch Provincial Park offers a unique outdoor experience where nature and diplomacy meet.
Awesome park, nice to relax on a sunny weekend. Interesting for those visiting Canada and want to see the US border. No slides or swings but a lot of open green space to play around for kids and some scenic picture spots.
Shopping in the US is our family’s routine every now and then. I loved to see the historical Peace Arch with its gorgeous garden across the border. It’s a beautiful monument situated between the communities of Blaine, Washington and Surrey, British Columbia.
There's a no left turn sign as you exit the park. Absolutely make a left turn there, otherwise you will end up at the border crossing with no way to turn back to Canada. If you don't have your passports with you, and why would you if you weren't planning to go to the US, and you accidentally end up at the border, US border agents will take your photo and fingerprints and generally take forever processing you before letting you turn back to Canada. Ridiculous. We don't even want to enter the US. The whole ordeal took an hour before we were allowed to turn back to Canada.
We take for granted that the US and Canada are peaceful neighbors, but that wasn't always so, and I can think of a couple of neighboring countries that are less than peaceful. I also can't help but think of how this contrasts with the other end of I-5, Being able to wander back and forth between two countries like one can here is no small thing. I also appreciate how beautiful this place is and what a good job BC has done in maintaining this park. It is well worth the visit, no matter what side of the border you come from. Do watch where you park. If you make the first left into the Duty-Free shop parking, you will have to go to the United States, and all the fun going through a US border crossing entails. Also, if you do park in the actual lot, note that you can make a left turn on BC 99, even if it isn't marked. That's at the second carriageway, of course. Picnic area: I saw a number of families using the picnic tables. They looked clean and well-maintained.
Really cool peaceful place where two countries are connected with not too secure border. Went to the park nearby where one side has houses with canadian flag and the other with american flag. Playground: There are swings in the park nearby Restrooms: Toilets are available in the american area of the park
I was here 22 yrs ago. Didn't care for the beauty... but I appreciated it this time. Someone give the gardener a raise! Take the time to walk around here. Relax and enjoy nature.
Love this place! Went to the Peace Arch from the US side couple of times, but this is my first time come from the Canada side. Plenty of parking space. Need special attention DO NOT enter the parking lot for the duty free shop, otherwise you have to go to US. Only thing was disappointing was that the US and Canada national flags formed by flowers were gone. Not sure what happens there.
Splendid park, make sure to have proper documentation on you like passport, PR card, valid worker permit, etc showing legal status of the country you're coming from.
Fabulous park, very well maintained and beautiful.
