Great place to go for a walk there are an endless ammount of trails or spend some time fishing they stock the lake with trout a few times a year. And there are lots and Lots of mushrooms! Always an adventure.
Beautiful forest in the middle of the city. It has such a peaceful vibe to it. Good spot to spend an entire day or just a few hours walking on various trails. Large picnic area near the lake with benches around. The lake is restocked with fish every season for the fishing enthusiasts. Gentle easy trails to walk around and enjoy a quick break. Would definitely visit again
Large peaceful park beautiful during all seasons. There is a small parking lot, as well as an overflow lot, but can be completely full during busy times. Lots of clearly marked gravel trails as well as several benches/picnic areas. The trails are paved well enough that it is accessible to strollers and wheelchairs. Most of them are fairly wide, but there are some smaller routes that can only comfortable fit single-lane pedestrian traffic. Sometimes there are people fishing in the lake. There are ducks and small fish in the pond. There are also supposedly beavers but I’ve never seen em. No designated off-leash area for dogs
Amazing city park with well maintained and strategically designed walking trails. Many friendly people in the beautiful urban forest setting plus the RCMP police headquarters there made our walks feel safe. The lake in the middle is very picturesque. Many people fishing on south side. The park is not original forest, but it very mature tall trees, and has that WestCoast forest feel. It smells fresh, very low to non existent city noises in most of the middle trails. Parking is ok, but there are not enough stalls during busy times. We drove past many times as parking looked full. They need to double the capacity of what is there now.
Highly recommend for the nature walking and you feel really relaxed. Not busy at all and you can walk while listening to birds music. You can do fishing at the lake as well while following the local guidelines.
Such a beautiful place to go in summers and winters both. Went again during snow. The lake was partially frozen and covered with snow. The trails were covered in snow and looked surreal. Gives a wintery forest feel. So many trails to explore. A must go place.
Be the first I've been here mid afternoon and wasn't overly busy like other times, very beautiful and peaceful, Ducks with their ducklings and geese with godlings, seems everyone enjoying the view along with all the wildlife, cranes, loons and even a couple of eagles fishing. A few picnic tables, along with public bathrooms, not to mention lots of parking
Beautiful lake tucked within the hustle of the city. Has a great trail with places to sit by the lake, picnic tables and bbq tables as well. Has public washrooms. Lots of ducks and geese here, some very beautiful. Water is very clear and the whole place is clean. Great for an afternoon stroll with the family and little ones. Highly recommend it.
Beautiful trails, a lake and fishing opportunities. It was a relaxing sitting area suitable for small gatherings.
Love the trails here. Great for a leisurely walk or family bike ride. Really well maintained trails, accessible all year long.
