Delicious sandwiches! They definitely do not skimp out on the meat. Tried their pork belly and fried chicken sandwiches and both were very tasty. Combination of mayo/sauce and pickled veggies pairs well with the meats. Very nice thick slices of marinated pork belly. Bread was fresh and had a nice chew to it. Originally wanted to try their beef brisket but they were sold out. Staff/owner was nice enough to throw in some yam fries to make up for it. Will definitely try their pasta next time. Awesome food and service
Cute little pasta shop off SW Marine Drive. It’s a one man shop and I believe does more take outs than dine in. We ate in the restaurant; it’s more like food court style where you order first then find a table. We ordered the kimchi pork pasta and one “chef’s choice” which had the poached egg on Bolognese. Both very yummy and good portion! The price is also very reasonable. Love the simplistic style and the friendliness of the shop.
Had dinner at this place on Friday, March 4. Not a huge place with sparse decorations. Has a number of toy and super hero figurines. Ordering is done at a front counter with orders brought to your table. Pasta are Italian dishes with an Asian influence, whether it be the sauce or added ingredients. The "Hero" part are sandwiches, which again is Asian influenced. Started with a kale caesar salad. This was straight up a regular salad with baby kale and standard caesar dressing. Tasted good as a starter to our meal. I had the smoked salmon rose, which was spaghetti noodle served in a rose sauce with edamame, kale and generous portions of smoked salmon, both cooked and lox on top. Though sallty in parts, I thought the dish tasted good. The sauce was a tad thin, which had me mixing the noodles a little rigorously to make the sure the noodles were well coated. My partner had the mentaiko prawn, which was served with fettuccine. I think the person said that the sauce was cod roe cream. Whatever it was, the pasta was very good with a good amount of prawns. My daughter had the pork belly kimchi served with penne. The dish was well balanced, which I think says alot because I think kimchi can be quite strong. One thing to note is that all pasta was al dente, with very good chew with the noodles. The person who took our order was very pleasant and new the dishes quite well. Not sure if he was the only person in the restaurant and was making the dishes. Someone else came in the restaurant and the person said that his order would be 20 minutes, which resulted in the person leaving. Personally, I would have waited. Overall, thought the dishes were good. Very tasty and our meals came out in a timely manner, for what is perceived that night as a "one man show". Would like to come back and try their sandwiches or heroes, which look very interesting.
A top notch eatery in SE Vancouver. Each dish is perfectly prepared with incredible flavours. From the sandwiches to the pasta dishes, all are with quality fresh ingredients and outstanding chefmanship. We ordered numerous items from the menu and loved every single dish. Highly recommended if you want premium quality food from a chef/owner who takes great pride in providing quality and service.
Absolutely love the food! The price is great, and the variety is amazing! Each pasta actually tastes very different, and they different noodles and veggies in. Ordered the fantastic 4 so I got to try the varieties… will definitely return for more!!!
Yo....shout out to this neighborhood pasta! If you have a munch this is the place to go coz they open till late night which is awesome! I'm not gonna talk about the pasta as they were mentioned so many times like everyone said. I want to say they have Superb comfort food the Yam fries crispy and go well together with the sauce! Very cool staffs very nice people working there. Support local business guys.
If it’s your first time, get the fantastic four so you can try four different pastas. You get garlic bread and that was actually my favourite. Portions are super fair for the price. The mentaiko is light and not too flavourful or salty. The truffle mushroom is super fragrant. The kimchi pork belly reminded me of soy sauce fried noodles. Overall, great fusion, non Italian pasta restaurant and worth checking out.
Tried the chicken hero for lunch and it was amazing! The chicken is crispy on the outside but not over cooked. Chicken is juicy and great texture. The sauces that go into the hero really complement the pickled radish. It almost tastes like a banh mi. The bread is great too - it’s crispy and has a great chew to it, but doesn’t stick to your teeth or get soggy. Great price for a great value! I can’t wait to come back and try the pasta!
A must try! Casual fusion restaurant specializing in pasta and subs. We ordered the fantastic four except salmon & miso, pork belly hero and brisket hero. Great portions and reasonable pricing! Every dish had the right amount of flavour. We definitely had left overs for lunch! We recommend the brisket hero, pork belly hero, mushroom truffle cream and pork belly kimchi.
Drove by the other day and saw the "Pasta Hero" sign and decided to stop in tonight and give it a try. Best decision ever - the pasta was excellent! Also had the cactus cut fries, house salad and garlic bread. Everything was delicious and well portioned for the price. I was going to get a sandwich to go but I'll wait till next time to eat it fresh. Can't wait to go back! And the guys who were working tonight were very cool and super friendly. Make sure to give Pasta Hero a shot
