Paradise Point State Park

Story

Paradise Point State Park is an 88acres Washington state park on the East Fork Lewis River just east of Interstate 5 in Clark County. The park has of river shoreline and offers camping, hiking, boating, fishing, and swimming.Great place to get your stuff ripped off, while paying 1/2 of what it cost to stay in a motel 6 three exits up 1-5. Park Rangers are poorly trained, inept at forest management (invasive species everywhere) while hiring the community service workers to play camp hosts.

Really need to provide two reviews -- a 4 star for the camp ground a 1 star for the creek/beach. We paid for the electrical and water hook up, lots of room between campsites. There was a poacher using our electric box for an adjoining site when we got there, he was harmless. Bathrooms were clean, the ranger was out and seemed to enforce the rules. We went to the creek early, recommend if you are going to go, go early -- cigerette butts all over the beach, we had to leave by 2 pm on a Saturday because two separate families arrived and were so obnoxious, smoking, hyper dog... Overall for the price not bad (Campground)

Beautiful setting. The river is slow-moving and shallow enough for my 4 year old to run in. There are rocks for jumping off of under the bridge. Dog friendly and has a restroom. Tons of blackberry bushes to pick from. A nice place to take your family. A couple of picnic tables with outdoor grills and lots of parking.

Could be worse -- I suppose. Overpriced, not particularly friendly staff, and lots of noise from the freeway. Add that the shower runs with tokens that you buy at the office -- and the office is closed in the morning. Just that 'we don't care' touch to let you know that you don't want to come back here again. It'd be an adequate $10 a night campground -- but it's not. As of this writing, it's $30.

Close to Vancouver and easy to get to and from. Park is very clean, lots of park rangers/employees. Seems very safe. There is a fair amount of highway noise, but if you walk to the farthest camp spot it is pretty quiet. We played music for the most part. Enjoyed camping here.
