Cowlitz View Memorial Gardens

My father died August 4, 2020. He had already purchased his plot at Cowlitz Memorial Gardens years and years before. After his funeral and burial, I had ordered an expensive imported granite headstone, knowing that it would be a while before it was installed. I paid for a cement surround to go around the headstone and asked for a planter to be placed in the cement surround. Finally, months and months later the headstone was placed, but with no cement surround. I called many times, before memorial day, to no avail. I wanted it done before we came out. Then I tried sending an emailed. Finally, after several attempts at reaching them, I got a hold of someone right before memorial day 2021 and they said that the were setting the headstone and that the area for the cement surround would be cut and it would be placed soon. He also said that he would place the planter in, at no charge. We went to visit my fathers grave on memorial day 2021. The headsone was placed alright, but it looked awful. It was not level, and there was a big, 2 to 3 inch gap all around the headstone. The caretaker said the gap was for the cement surround and planter. So now, a year later, Memorial Day, we went to visit my dad's grave. Mind you, it is now 2022. There is NO cement surround that I PAID for AND the planter that they said they would place at no charge, due to all of the problems was placed in the center of my mom's grave, that is next to my dad and already fully paid for as well. My mom is alive and well. Her grave is empty. She asked them, "you put the planter in the middle of my grave. Where am I suppose to go and my headstone." The response from the caretaker was "oh, don't you worry. We will make room for you." This is the worst cemetery caretakers that I have ever come across. Be wary of this place. Know that they will never answer or return your calls. Definitely not the kind of people you will want to deal with during the difficult time after loosing a loved one.How do we fix this? Can we call and complain to the city? I mean these people are handling the dead bodies of our loved ones and they cannot even get a grave done right.

I would like to know who takes care of this cemetery! Cause I'll take the job! And make that place look amazing! My family is put to rest here! Just got back from doing their job!

More than a year ago we had my grandmother, grandfather and uncle buried in a plot that grandma pick and paid for long before she died. We picked a head stone one with all 3 names and still to this day, it is not properly set! It is just dropped there on the ground, still has the blue protective plastic one it! MORE THAN A YEAR LATER .. and all we hear is excuses.. we are short handed, it was a busy month, the weather etc etc. I will get to it next week.... oh sorry, maybe next week! It is so sad to go there and see NOTHING has changed again!

The lower park is discusting!! Rarely mowed, headstones are never taken care of. Roads a barely passable!

So disappointed ,again, in the condition of this cemetery.
