I always order the Smokehouse Barbecue Chicken sandwich, so I know how it is made. Where is the cheese? Ordered extra onions, where are they? Extra barbecue sauce??? I did this myself on the kiosk, so I know it wasn’t ordered incorrectly. I literally had bread with some barbecue sauce and a few onions for lunch - for $11.00. Ordered a bakery item with my food and they put it on the counter separate from my to go order and continued to yell my last name at the top of their lungs until I told the server it went with the rest of my order, which was to-go. So odd. This location was very well staffed, which was a plus, but by far the worst Panera location I have ever been to. A big, cold, open room that was noisy and uninviting. There is nothing warm or welcoming about this location, which is newer. I sure hope this isn’t the model Panera is leaning towards! Don’t fix what isn’t broken Panera. This is a fail….and a waste of $11 today.
I used to order most mornings the chipotle chicken avocado melt for my family. It used to be great. Not sure if they recently changed a cook there, but my favorite sandwich turned into a sloppy-made thing that I had a hard time eating. The sandwich used to be grilled before applied sauce, so it doesn't get soggy. Now they don't do that anymore, so the bread is mushy and soggy. The chicken used to be pulled apart so it is in a good balance with the other flavors. Now they just place large chunks in the sandwich. There used to be sauce. Now there was no sauce, but the bread was soggy from the boiled chicken. I will discontinue eating at this location until they improve the quality of their sandwiches. I spend a significant amount of money for a few sandwiches a week and I expect a decent quality. My last few orders offered far from a decent quality.
I haven’t been to the Panera in McHenry since they opened the new location until 2 days ago. What a disappointment it was. The atmosphere of the old Panera across the road is completely gone! My high school cafeteria was nicer than this place. One open room with no character or warmth that the old place had. The food was fine even though they are very slow to get the food out compared to the old place or Crystal Lake. Doing construction for a living this was a major disappointment. Everything about this place is a fail and the parking lot layout is not good either and I thought that’s why they moved. Please gut the dining room and try again.
You got rid of my favorite salad… the Asian sesame. Shame! Plus’s the prices and wait times are outrageous. I don’t recommend this place unless you have a thick wallet.
I am shocked. I brought my daughters here for date night. We had great service from the girls working from the counter. When me and my daughters were waiting for our food we literally see a food worker in the back drop food on the floor and put it back in someone’s food. It gets better. I report to the manager and she is very frantic and rude. She did say sorry, and said maybe it was a mistake. lol check the cameras!!!!! Management check May 3, 2024 cameras. It’s 5:20 pm. Never going here again . Gross
