I always order the Smokehouse Barbecue Chicken sandwich, so I know how it is made. Where is the cheese? Ordered extra onions, where are they? Extra barbecue sauce??? I did this myself on the kiosk, so I know it wasn’t ordered incorrectly. I literally had bread with some barbecue sauce and a few onions for lunch - for $11.00. Ordered a bakery item with my food and they put it on the counter separate from my to go order and continued to yell my last name at the top of their lungs until I told the server it went with the rest of my order, which was to-go. So odd. This location was very well staffed, which was a plus, but by far the worst Panera location I have ever been to. A big, cold, open room that was noisy and uninviting. There is nothing warm or welcoming about this location, which is newer. I sure hope this isn’t the model Panera is leaning towards! Don’t fix what isn’t broken Panera. This is a fail….and a waste of $11 today.
I haven’t been to the Panera in McHenry since they opened the new location until 2 days ago. What a disappointment it was. The atmosphere of the old Panera across the road is completely gone! My high school cafeteria was nicer than this place. One open room with no character or warmth that the old place had. The food was fine even though they are very slow to get the food out compared to the old place or Crystal Lake. Doing construction for a living this was a major disappointment. Everything about this place is a fail and the parking lot layout is not good either and I thought that’s why they moved. Please gut the dining room and try again.
You got rid of my favorite salad… the Asian sesame. Shame! Plus’s the prices and wait times are outrageous. I don’t recommend this place unless you have a thick wallet.

I live in McHenry and I eat at Panera weekly.nWe went through the drive-thru today.nMy wife and I ordered the pick two.nI got the mac and cheese and corn chowder, she got mac and cheese and the caprese sandwich.nnThey left out one of our mac and cheese's so my wife back went back inside to pick it up.nnWe got to the house and she took a bite into her sandwich, it was a turkey sandwich.nMy wife's a vegetarian and hasn't eaten meat in over 10 years.nAlso Even if she did eat meat she wouldn't have eaten this sandwich, the bread was folded over on itself and most of the ingredients were outside of the bread.nnSomething has to change as far as the quality control goes. I'm assuming poor management or non-trained employees.nRegardless after reading the other reviews I can tell that this Panera has gone downhill since they moved locations.nnI'll find a different choice
