Painter's Lodge

Amazing place to stay, especially in the summer. The rooms a little dated but the surrounding makes up for it. I highly recommend!!

Great place, excellent views of the Georgia Strait. Wonderful outdoor deck patio during the summer. Cozy pub to visit for lunch on rainy fall days.

Nice property. Water taxi to Quadra island for guests. Good snacks at the pub with a view. Even though breakfast was supposed to be included, if you get up earlier than the buffet opened to go fishing through an outside company they would not provide a box breakfast. Only box breakfast was given if you booked fishing through them. Would have thought paying for the stay at the cabin they could have provided the inexpensive box breakfast. That left a bit of a bad impression.

Stopped for drinks after mushroom picking. Wanted to sit in the lounge and have a cocktail. Had to sit in the pub instead. The honey garlic wings were over sauced and under crispy.

I stayed in one of their private cabins with a kitchenette and 3 beds. When we arrived there was a window left open in one of the bedrooms, which is when I realized none of the windows have locks on them and can be opened from the exterior. We also had 3-5 spiders with webs that have been there for a few days in every room, which shows the quality of their cleaning crew. My wife then got stuck in one of the bedrooms because the door was so tight I had to shoulder check it to open it. On top of that, there are stains on the carpet, the paint is peeling off the walls in the bathroom due to no ceiling fan, the front entrance had no light bulb in the light, our living room lamp was broken, and we didn't even have a room phone to call front desk. Our cabin is in the very back corner of the resort, which is a few 100 meters away from the front desk. When we went to inform the front desk of our issues with the room, we were greeted by a very kind, professional young woman that genuinely seemed concerned and wanted to help. But we had an older employee but in when she heard our concern about the windows not having locks, and responded with "we haven't had any issues with break ins, so it should be okay" and then proceeded to tell us that if we were that worried about it we could put all our luggage and belongings in our 2 cubic foot safe, which was also missing from the room. When we told her that her response was unprofessional and completely missing the point regarding the security issue, she argued with us and then stormed off. I personally would never come back to this resort again and do not recommend it to anyone.
