As part of Filipino Restaurant Month, I was invited to try this restaurant! It was actually my first time trying something other than the veggie lumpia spring rolls and I was amazed at how much I enjoyed it . : ʟᴜᴍᴘɪᴀɴɢ ɢᴜʟᴀʏ: Can't ever go wrong with spring rolls! Filled with a variety of vegetables, these spring rolls are crispy, perfectly golden and delicious! ʜᴜʀɴᴏɴɢ ᴛᴀʜᴏɴɢ: Definitely the highlight for me! These delicious, cheesy, baked mussels are amazing. Totally returning for an order or two of these mussels! ɴɪʟᴀɢᴀɴɢ ʙᴀᴋᴀ: Unfortunately, the life of a foodie requires your camera to eat first , as such the soup was cold when I went to try it. I think I'd have enjoyed it when it was warm. ᴘᴀᴄɪɪᴄ ʜᴜᴛ ʙᴇᴇ ᴘᴇᴄɪᴀʟ: This beef stew in a special tomato sauce was the perfect main. The beef was soft and perfectly seasoned and the light curry went really well with the rice and vegetables it was served with. Also totally loved that it was served on a "sizzling plate" ᴄʜɪᴄᴋᴇɴ ʙᴀᴄᴏʟᴏᴅ: I didn't personally try this, hit a friend did and loved it! ʜᴀʟᴏ ʜᴀʟᴏ: This dish looked so amazing and I was so sad that I couldn't eat it . My tummy was way too full, but I guess that just means I need to go back to have it LOL! ʙᴜᴋᴏ ᴘᴀɴᴅᴀɴ ɴᴏᴛ ᴘɪᴄᴛᴜʀᴇᴅ: I loved this dessert! It was full of jello and young coconut in a pandan-infused cream. Another must order item for me! Overall, I really enjoyed Filipino cuisine and this won't be the last time I visit Pacific Hut Restaurant! Follow me on @WanderingInYYC for all things YYC!
We ordered a few dishes to try: nilaga na Baka, Laing, lechon kawali, bbq sticks and their fried rice. We barely touched our food because it was super salty! The only ones we were able to eat properly was the bbq sticks, and the fried rice. The nilaga and Laing was super salty, we took it home and added more water and cooked it again. The lechon kawali was too crunchy and dry, you can clearly see it has been running under the heat for awhile and was reheated to serve to us. We decided to skip on dessert because of how unsatisfied our meal was. Food quality needs work and please relax on the salt! The waitress was nice and seated us right away, so at least there’s 2 stars.
This is their 5.99 each Lumpiang Sariwa. So disappointed. Very small, failed wrapped and soggy. We ordered crispy pata too and it's the worst crispy pata Ive ever tried. Like a rubber not crunchy at all. I will never come back to this place for Filipino food. Overpricing and bad food quality. The rumor was right.
The waitress that work here is amazing, her name is Joanie. She’s very nice, very friendly, very kind and efficient. She never disappoints me on anything. She does her job properly. She’s one of the reason why I come this place often. And also the chef cook Joy, he’s very nice also. I would really recommend this place to all my friends and family. Excellent experience…
My wife always raves about how excellent the food is here so we decided to go for a date night here. It was my first time coming here & it was amazing!! The meat was so tender & seasoned perfectly & the rice was perfectly cooked. Thanks to our friendly server Chloe, we had awesome recommendations and she was always polite to us. Thanks! We will be coming back in the future
My friends rave about this restaurant when we speak of filipino restaurant in Calgary. So we went and see what the fuss is about. To my surprise, its dissapointing. We arrived, two staff saw us none said hi or greeted us. Instead of showing where to sit, they just placed the menu on the table so we assumed thats our table. When we ordered the server feels like she doesn't want to work there, very unfriendly and unwelcoming. When the food came portions are big compared to others which we liked. When we tasted it, it was too bland. We asked for salt and pepper to adjust the flavour. I ordered tapsilog, the tapa was so hard and it felt like it was reheated. Garlic rice was too oily and no garlic flavor at all. The server never refilled our water. When we asked she just pass by us. Then again one more time. She already saw us but chose to neglect. At the kitchen, the women doesnt care about the wait times at all. They're busy chitchatting. When you try to get their attention for help they just try to do something else to avoid us. It made us uncomfortable and annoyed. Overall, food and staff can improve. The owner should observe the business because if this continues they'll loose business. Maybe check on the staff? I've seen in other reviews that years ago the business was great, too bad I didn't experience that. I wont come back here as I am sure theres a better filipino restaurant than this one.
Our server Chloe was very patient even if she was serving multiple tables. Food was great! Halo-halo by Chloe was the best part of dinner. It was also fun that Kuya Jobert was there for Friday karaoke night.
Ate here yesterday morning. We ordered pork sinigang, crispy pata, sisig, and tapsilog. Pork sinigang tasted like it was lacking the sour taste of tamarind so we ask to redo it. When it came back boy it was so good. Crispy pata and sisig delicious as always. Tapsilog was very good but it was on a smaller portion I would understand because beef in Calgary are expensive. Server was working alone but she manage to served everyone. The table beside us was calling her 4 times asking for a lot of stuff no consideration at all . She was like an octopus We feel sorry for her. Multi tasking is hard so we understand.
If i could give them a negative zero i would. The service sucks. Few weeks ago we went to the restaurant for lunch. They were short staffed, I felt bad for the server coz she was the only one who actually works that day. There was the cook who was in the floor but she was busy talking to her friends during her shift. When her friends left i asked her for our bill and she told me to ask get the bill upfront. Like duh is it hard for her to printout the bill and give it to me. When i was going to pay the bill I waited for over half an hour to just pay for a bill there is nobody in the restaurant and there’s a lot of people waiting as well to either pay the bill or be seated. We could just left and not pay. Poor customer service. I also called to order sisig for lunch last week and guess what they said the sisig wont be ready until the next day. Next day for them to cook the sisig and i asked why they could not have the sisig by lunch time they said its hard to cook. Disappointed by the employees you have. Not going back there ever again. Negative Zero
I’ve never had phillipino food before, must say I am very impressed! The flavours were amazing! Portions were large enough to share. Great variety! Live band was very loud and had to call the waitresses if we needed them. Very good experience over all tho.
