My parents were visiting from Calgary and I took them here for dinner because of their Google rating and our first choice was closed. It was clear that the restaurant had just opened because there were tables and chairs everywhere but no decor. It was also clear that our hostess/server was inexperienced at hosting/serving. First, we were told that they could not accomodate 3 as they only had tables for 2. She only sat us after asking to put 2 tables together. When ordering, we were told that we could not order particular items because it was "too busy" or "it would be too spicy for us". How dare you! We won't be coming back.
I Wish I could give better rating. The food was mediocre at its best and definitely long way to go to be good. The coconut chutney which we got was very much like grated coconut in water. The food was nothing like south Indian flavours as the name of the restaurant suggests
I rarely do reviews but couldn't resist leaving one for this place. This is by far one of the best south Indian restaurant I have been to in Canada. Not only was the food amazing but what surprised me was it's taste... The dosa, the sambhar, the chutney... Everything tasted just perfect, exactly like we have in India! Being in Canada since a long time and trying to find a good Indian restaurant that would remind of home, who would have thought this little cozy place in Montreal would be the place I had been looking for? Please please do visit!! You will not regret it.
It's an amazing restaurant for Indian cuisine, especially if you are craving south Indian food. Ever since moving to Montreal I have been looking for place to eat dosa and idli, and this place serves amazing Masala dosa and sambar idli. It tastes exactly how it is back in India. Full 5/5 ratings And it is very close to Concordia University downtown Campus, so it is a must visit for Indian students studying in SGW Campus.
First time here and I’m amazed with the food. I only get butter chicken & garlic naan in Indian restaurant. This place is now on my go to list whenever I have a craving. Not only the food was great but the lady that served us was really sweet and friendly :
The closest to Andhra/Telangana food you can get in Montreal! In fact this place would feel just as popular in Hyderabad. The taste, quality, quantity, spice, and service is spot on. The chutneys with the dosa were fresh and tasty especially the coconut chutney and allam ginger chutney. Don't go home without trying the gongura dishes Chicken or Mutton, and the Mutton biryani had such succulent pieces of mutton - you've be left wanting for more. The consistency and quality of each of the servings was super rich. They have some neat spread of other South Indian and regular Indian dishes, drinks, and desserts. My craving for Andhra food in Montreal is now satisfied - you have my dollars!
I went there first my wife and bro... we ordered 3 different dosa, rav dosa medium spicy, guntur gongura spicy, and chilli garlic masala dosa, to be honest, never order last two dosa's if you are not eating much chilli.mannnn... too much spicy .. after that we ate vanilla icecream from mcdonald. So be careful.... overall ambience is good, service was good
Very poor service and oily foods. We waited for more than 1 hour to know they haven’t even started cooking. Update: Well there is no option to respond to the owner and hence updating. I am more than happy to elaborate the end to end service we received. We didn’t walk in 2.29. The reservation was at 2 pm and we were seated at 2.05 pm. No one came in to take order for 15 mins - not even a water or menu card. Then when ordered, they took 25 mins after asking to give us the idli and sambar rice. Then there was no response for rest of the order. Around 3 pm when we checked again, they gave us the oily chili paneer without any breads. Meanwhile chili paneer became cold and when we looked at it, it was way oily as posted in the pic. After repeated follow ups they finally replaced it with Shahi paneer while the breads became cold. Dear owner, I work on customer facing business and I do strive to provide a quality product and service. However you don’t seem to hear out the issues from your customers and understand the root causes. First of all you need to be apologetic of the product and service you provided. Instead you seem to justifying the product and service. I agree that there is shortage of labor - but that does not mean you could provide a bad product and worst service. 2 other customers who were seated near us were unhappy and we decided to write this review. If this type of food and service continues, more to come here and complain. Good luck.
I’ve tried really good south indian restaurants in GTA and I know what good stuff is. This restaurant was okayNot really good in their own food. Idli’s were dry, we tried paneer65Weird dish name there and whole paneer was dry and we had hard time chewing it. Cauliflower manchurian was good. Dosa was also okay. Please refer to new price photos as the one you will find was old one and new one has great amount if price increment so refer to the prices before going there directly. I will attach it here.
This is not the correct place for tasting Indian food Hyderabad food. I ate Biryani on one day and dosa on other day, the biryani is not biryani, I don't know why they used coconut in biryani worst combination. Next comes dosa, they gave 2 types of chutney one is made up of tamarind seriously for a dosa? And other one was kind of peanut chutney taste is not good and additional to this they give sambar which was goodits actually daal. "Improving is always good"
