Ottawa Fertility Centre

We had an initial appointment with Dr Aaron Jackson. She agreed to work with us and use my eggs. I had a couple of health issues she wanted me to get other specialists to sign off on prior to proceeding. My own family doctor was so happy with my progress, she felt my health was fine to proceed. I had all but one signature but that was to be forthcoming and my family doctor had no concerns with me moving forward with pregnancy. On Jan 26/2018 I called the office to ensure I had all the necessary documentation and to let them know the other specialist appointment would be postponed till mid February but my family doctor was fine with me going ahead. It was the dear receptionist Judy (bless her soul) who broke the news to me that Dr Jackson had changed her mind and would no longer be willing to work with me using my own eggs- all appointments were cancelled and we were left to pick up the pieces. We had been offered donor eggs during our initial assessment but we really wanted to try having our own children first- we were paying customers after all- I guess we would have brought down the stats for the clinic- I really don't know. To drop us so suddenly- to change her mind- break a commitment to a patient , get our hopes up and then send your admin assistant to deliver such devastating news. We could not believe it- how we wished if she had changed her mind she would have let us know long before a year had passed by- especially when it comes to time sensitive matters- we were very explicit about using our own eggs- donor eggs would be discussed only after we had exhausted our own eggs. The one star review I am giving here is for Dr Jackson's admin assistant- Judy. I cannot imagine having to deliver the news she had to share with me today- too bad Dr Jackson did not take the time to do so.

The worst healthcare service I have ever received in my life. They are an out-dated, weight biased institution who will not treat anyone with a BMI over 35. One of the female MDs of this clinic told me to put the picture of a baby on my fridge to prevent me from opening it so that I would lose weight. I strongly discourage anybody from going to this clinic.

Impossible to reach anyone over the phone. They even cancel appointments without calling or emailing. I've attempted to reach them for hours per day for a few days to no avail. I don't think they actually answer their phones. I've even tried to call a few minutes before they open and kept calling until 30 minutes post opening; still to no answer. I think their phones are setup not to be answered. I have found the staff to be very friendly when I'm there.

How come we booked an appointment with Dr. Robert and he didn't show up to meet us and sent his assistant . If we didn't show up at our appointment we would pay a fee. Is that possible ???? Rude people in the front desk who differentiate between the patients . Give welcoming words to some and to others bad attitude About another doctor who did not give me the accurate success rate or accurate instructions and when the time comes after a year full of many disappointments and failures and waiting instead of taking fast actions to help me having my 1st baby ever ,they started to put struggles and threatened me to be delayed another year with no consideration to my age. Up till now no results . With no explanations or reasons I am really totally disappointed 😔 I can't imagine that could happen in Canada 🇨🇦 the country of respect and values I have no choice. Why there aren't any other place to go

I love Dr. Kotarba! She really cares and does everything to make it happen. I am not pregnant yet but hopefully soon❤️
