Finally got a chance to try this place. The pros - nice atmosphere, fun vibes and a great homage to Osaka. The fish selection was great and the presentation of the food was cute. Room for improvement - we had to wait 25 minutes for our table despite the fact that we had made reservations servers weeks prior. For the price of the food, I feel as if the food should have been a bit more elevated. The rice was cooked nicely, but the fish could have been sliced better and the rice to fish ratio was a bit off. Some of the flavouring combinations were interesting and Overall the flavours were there. I would definitely go back to try more.
Firstly food was pretty good abut the fish seemed like it was not chilled properly or prepped too early sushi rice was a bit dry, a unique flare for presentation. That said, it wouldn't be my first choice for to go here. It was such an uncomfortable dining experience. Lack of plates and utensils, seating was ridiculously cramped and uncomfortable, extremely small tables with no space for placing dishes down. Not a kids friendly dining experience though the atmosphere and decor was really unique. Price wise, it's relatively expensive where some suggest price was $150-$200 per person. Food: 4/5 Decor and atmosphere 4/5 Dining Experience 1/5 seating and overall dining set up ruined it for me Service 4/5 staff made an sincere effort and prompt Would I go back, probably not. Not that I don't appreciate it but I feel like it excessively price to the point that it's not reasonable.
My first time here and I must say the decor absolutely reminds me of the Izakaya's and restaurants that I have been to in Japan...very bright, colorful and vibrant. The service was super friendly, very attentive and quick. Now let's get to the fish.....it was absolutely amazing!! The fish was sooo fresh and was served at the perfect temperature and the rice was excellently seasoned and together it was absolutely delicious!! Star of the show was the uni.....so yummy and creamy! Yes this place is very expensive but if you don't like quality then go somewhere else otherwise you must try this place out. This has to be one of my favorites in Toronto!! Enjoy.
So happy that they have expanded! Delicious fresh sushi and sashimi with different varieties. The decoration of the restaurant makes you feel like you are in Japan. Price is on the higher range but the quality of food is exceptional.Food: 5/5
Really nice experience at Oo-Kinza. It’s definitely in the pricier side, however, the value you’re getting is incomparable! Huge portions and fresh fish. It’s a really small restaurant with only 10 seats, so you must make a reservation in advance! The owners were lovely and super attentive. I dropped my chopsticks twice oops, they miraculously heard it and came with a new set right away! I’ll definitely be back for more dons in the future! The only thing I didn’t like was that they didn’t have a washroom in the restaurant. I was directed to McDonald’s next door…which is definitely unexpected for the price I’m paying…
Fresh fish and beautiful restaurant! I felt like I was dining in Japan even though I have never been there My favorite dish was the uni with Japanese oyster. The uni was absolutely fresh, smooth and buttery. The oyster was also very fresh as well! It is pricey here but you are paying for the extreme freshness of the fish. Great spot for splurge sushi in Scarborough/Markham area!
Feel like your r in Japan! I visited it after their renovation! The price increased a lots compared before but the food quality is really good! Sashimi and skewers r very good! The lobster bowl is below my expectation! Parking: Lots of spot! Easy to find!
First time at kin kin, we ordered the sashimi, sushi table combo B. The sashimi tasted fresh and sweet There’s a good selection of Sashimi including uni, lobster, and various fish. It was a little too much , I’d suggest ordering a bowl of rice on the side Sushi came with good portions. This meal was good enough for two people.
Very pricey but because they give you really high quality cuts and fish. Incredibly small restaurant so reservation or take out required. We sat by a small high top by the door, so not the best experience for what we paid. However we had a lobster tower with sashimi and abalone. My goodness, it was so damn good. Wish I had enough money to eat it all the time
You might think the price is a bit high first, but it's actually not bad considering what's being served and its quality. Definitely recommended if you wanna experience something different than typical all-you-can-eat sushi. It was a pleasant surprise that I could find a place like here in Scarborough!Food: 4/5
