Maple Yip Seafood Restaurant

This is one of the Chinese restaurants we go to every time we drive down to Toronto. Good meal every time! We like their famous fried chicken we order this dish for every visit and no disappointment at all, braised pork with preserved vegetable my husband's favorite dish, but I only let him have one piece due to the fat level for this dish. Melt in your mouth. We also tried their eggplant in a hot pot in our recent visit in May 2018. In addition, we ordered oyster mushroom stir-fried with pea sprouts. The price is still very reasonable!

A hdden gem, located at a back corner of a quiet place. Surprisingly the service was great, courteous staff. Food was equally good, from the soup to dessert. A lot of time was spent preparing each dish such as the sticky rice chicken and the braised pork belly. Even the free dessert soup was well prepared. Better to make reservations here.

Service is as you would expect from a midscale Chinese restaurant; straight to the point. Options are decent. Ordered the sautéed shrimp with cashews. Modest price, modest quality. Would recommend to someone wishing to try out Chinese for the first time.

One of our favorite restaurants in Toronto. Reasonably priced. Staff are generally friendly and efficient. That's why there's always lineups, but well worth the wait.

Been here for longer than 10 years. Quality never changed. Their braised pork belly is one of the best in the world. But don't have it everyday because it's super unhealthy. Other dishes were always good too. Just come if you need a dinner with fam.

So many years and it's still so busy. It's recommend for weekend dinner to make your reservation ahead of time. Since your at it, pre-order the chicken stuffed sticky rice and the Winter melon soup. Both are well worth the money and it's what they are famous for. It's really one of Scarborough's hidden gems...a diamond in the rough.

The newest old school Chinese food place. Maple Yip doesn't do anything fancy, but it does the simple things right. Most of their dishes are made in a hot wok giving them that distinct smokey flavour. Our personal favorites are their fries tofu, melon soup order ahead, stuffed chicken also order ahead, bitter melon with smelt and pan fried beef tenderloin with onion. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it.

Good seafood. Good dishes. There are some special dishes which requires advance ordering. The chicken with crab was very good. The lobster dish was very good too. Get the The place itself is fairly large with many tables. I would recommend making reservations on the weekend, especially during holiday or special occasions.

Really busy Chinese restaurant. Kind of hidden in an older plaza. Make reservations for dinner time! They have some special order menu items that you have to order the day ahead like the winter melon soup served in a hollowed out melon, or the deboned crispy chicken stuffed with sticky rice.

Terrible service, terrible food. We reserved but were seating people that got there after us. Not only that we pre-ordered Peking duck in advance when we got there they tell us that they ran out. And then to make matters worst food was so salty and the portions were so little, then they had the nerve to tell us that they were being generous with the portions as we had not gotten our food that we preordered. They stopped coming to our table to serve, we had to stand up and go to them if we needed something and they took forever. Allso forced us to pay tip. Lol such a joke. Do not go to this restaurant ton of other Chinese restaurants to go to.
